Mens Mags (Nuts, Zoo, FHM etc) - Is your partner allowed to buy / look at them?

Maybe she's feeling slightly insecure???? Also depends what her mags are like...if they're like the ones I read they'll either be about fashion or trashy celeb mags:o I doubt they're full of half naked 20-something blokes talking about 'todays issues';):)

My Hubby isn't as subtle as you he doesn't go for the mags he'd rather just have a right good gawp at other girls while I'm there:eek::rotfl:Luckily it doesn't bother me but if I think he's going OTT with it I'll start 'Phwoar'ing at fit blokes too:D:DSoon shuts him up:p

I despise Nuts-esque mags and all they stand for. I'd prefer my chap was buying actual !!!!!!, at least that's being honest with himself.

But nobody gets to tell another adult what (s)he's not allowed to read.

By the way, "All the usual women's mags" aren't exactly a direct equivalent to Nuts and Zoo, are they? If your wife were buying NORKS magazine - full of pictures of beautiful young men, in various states of undress, kissing each other - which displayed the kind of attitude to men that NUTS does to women, you might be forgiven for feeling feel a little bit upset.

Goodness, now i can see why you arent allowed the sun - IMO its a useless paper lol! Does she also make you turn soccer saturday off when the soccerette comes on

But in all seriousness, i cant see the issue.

I buy my oh every year a different mag subscription for xmas.. so far I have bought nuts, FHM, zoo, car mags (which sem to be full of semi naked women draped over cars lol) He works hard (practically 365 days a year) within a very demanding, high pressured job that needs him to work many unsocial hours. He is a loving and loyal father and long term partner and i know how much he loves us as a family unit and me - not only as a partner and mother of his children but as a best friend and lover. If he wants/enjoys flicking through a magazine on a weekly basis then i dont see the issue.....

Maybe it is due to these ^ attributes that i am safe, secure and loved in our relationship and confident in myself..so if he wants to toot at Keely Brooke & Lucy Pinder in very little then thats fine! Infact, he will often comment to me about things in such mags. We have even been know to discuss the women who send in their pics to nuts/zoo and debate if their boobs are real or fake!!

The women in these mags get paid very well (from what i understand) for putting their assets on show and the 'readers' (i use the term loosely!) obviously appreciate them so i cant see the issue.

TBH if i hadnt had 3 kids and number 4 on the way I would be getting my kit off in a shot instead of working in a shoebox sized office if i thought I could a) pull it off and b) get paid for it!

We have 2 'rules' regarding such magazine in our house 1) They dont get left lying about for the kids to toot at - ds1 is just about reaching that age now, and 2) He doesnt buy them (wierdly enough any subscriptions i have bought as gifts are ok!) post birth when i feel like i beached whale, hormonal, emotional and a tad upset that i somehow must loose 3 stone! He respects this and thats all that matters!

If, however I was not comfortable with my oh 'reading' such mags and he continued to do so i would be questioning why he feels its ok to hurt my feeling so much!

I'd suggest clearing your internet history after you use it then.

Frankly I couldn't be with someone so insecure they wouldn't 'allow' me to read nuts and checked my internet history, but each relationship is different.

I generally buy a copy of nuts or zoo if Im boarding a plane somewhere and at no other time, not sure why really, it's just become a bit of a habit. I enjoy some of the sport/car/joke related stuff they have in there and yes, even some of the women. My girlfriend doesn't mind at all though and I don't really understand why women would have a problem with it.

!!!!!! I can understand, even if I don't necessarily agree with their opinions. Im clearly just lucky to have the girl I do.

I'd be miffed, but the reason for that would be that I hate those trashy magazines- female-orientated ones like Hello and OK included!

Joking apart, my husband is 'allowed' to buy any magazine he wants. I'm his wife, not his keeper! He happens to think magazines like that are trash anyway, but if he wanted to buy them I wouldn't be bothered. He can look at pictures of women (or real women for that matter) all he wants, I know that getting married doesn't mean you cease to be human and find people attractive. The important thing is that I know looking is all he would do.
