    Ok thanks anyway.

Anyone else have any ideas? Yes it seems too good to be true and probably is. I've emailed the hotel to check if they have my reservation and I'm waiting for a reply.

I would post your story here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hotel-deals-607/ where people are more used to dealing with 'mistake' fares.

I personally, and at no point, would ever go to anyone 'is this a mistake'? And no, they will not charge if they turn around and say 'actually it's £150' - you'd be able to say 'no thanks'. I think the greatest chance of you getting this is to be relatively discreet about the whole issue. Besides, it's your first time to Singapore and you keep being told what great value the hotels are ;)

I've travelled on mistake pricing before with few issues (had one 'we're not supposed to be accepting anymore people who booked this' at check-in, but a few hearty laughs, and all was good with the world).

    I get what you're saying.

So maybe I was wrong to even email the hotel asking if they have my reservation.. perhaps I should just keep quiet about the whole thing, assume the confirmed reservation at face value and keep my fingers crossed for someone half asleep at check in.

    Will post on flyertalk anyway.
  • It's coming up as £174 on that site so reckon someone missed out the 7. If you go on and check your booking what does it say?

Not very impressed so far with that website Moonchild, but thanks for telling me about it anyway. I posted my question, the mod wants the price verified or he'll lock it, and everyone else seems more interested getting the "mistake rate" rather than answering what I asked.

Seems more like a Bargain Alert / Grabbit type forum than a helpful one. :(
  • just hold on in there for a couple of days. i have had things that haved worked out. count it as a bonus if you get it as you have your family and if it is registered in the uk i think you would have certain rights anyway. you need confirmation from the supplier not the hotel i would think anyway. is there anyway you can go into your booking to ascertain your confirmation.

Yup, booking is definitely confirmed. I just called WCT on +18667038518 and spoke to an agent (outsourced).

I asked her to confirm my reservation, the price and whether or not it can be cancelled.

    She said:

    Room price: S$224.00 (S$28 x 8 nights).

Tax (she put me on hold to call the hotel to confirm the tax rate) @ 17%, so S$38.08.

TOTAL: S$262.08 to pay to hotel.

The agent also said I've already paid US$15.00 fee at the time of booking. I didn't know that, but not complaining.

Finally, she said the reservation cannot be cancelled - as "it has already been passed to the hotel who have confirmed the booking with me on the phone just now".

(me thinks "cannot be cancelled" means "cannot be cancelled by customer" and hotel may still cancel if they cotton on)..

Still, the proof shall be in the pudding.

I work for a well known hotel chain and when we get bookings sent through from 3rd party agents, we have to honour them regardless of the rate/room type.

Although, the only way to find out would be to ask what the contract between the agent and the hotel says!
