Grrr I've just found out that a colleague has resigned, finishes end of month, which means I have to take over his team  . There will only be 3 weeks left of his team so why he couldn't wait til then I don't know! We are short staffed as it is with our other colleague off with a serious illness. This guy has only been with us 2 months, he begged for the job for years and now all of a sudden doesn't want it! I don't mind taking over his team as such as I love my job, but he could have waited 3 more blooming weeks. I don't have a team during these 3 weeks as I'm meant to be organising and recruiting for my next team so god knows when I'll be able to do that! Also it means, instead of doing assignments today I'll spend most of it on the phone sorting stuff out. Grrr. Rant over.* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Morning all
Bumper mushroom haul on the way home from work. We are going to be eating this stuff for weeks lolI had beefsteakfungus for tea last night - the first time I've ever eaten it and it was great. It looks scarily like a steak. It was even quite an old specimen too, so I was suprised at how good it was. I can see more on the oak trees in the copse, but they are way too high up to even think about going for. Need more rain!!
redruby - well done on the preserve haul! I am still eating the stuff from last year, so I've not made any new stuff so farSeems like a good year for plums, although they have cut back the mini plum trees along the verge near us this year just after they started to fruit
Dinner tonight is something ermm...mushroom based. Might whizz some up in the blender and make a mushroom pudding. Fruit cake was okay, a bit dark, but I think that was the figs I shoved in it.
I've asked OH to make more bank appointments today, so we'll see how we get on with that *sigh* It's so depressing. I think it irks because when I first moved here my ex got one the exact same value with the exact same deposit (10 %) with no problem on half the salary and less job security. It's just harder to borrow now than it was five years ago.
Morning Trazy
Right, must go and get to work. My first task today is to hunt down a meerkat garden sculpture as a present for a work collegue. Oh joy.
Have a good day everyone, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Morning all
Welcome Trazy.
Grey & overcast here, but the washing will go on the line anyway as it's supposed to brighten up later.
Hubby is fitting the new toilet, cue lot's of swearing & banging, I'm sure he's enjoying himself really!!
When he's fininshed he want's to start decorating.
No plans for me as I shall spend my time making him copious amount of tea & admiring his handywork.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Hello folks, its been raining here quite a bit this morning, but there are little patches of blue starting to show through, so the WM has been put on. I am off work for a few days to get hubbys books finalised for the auditors but I cannot find any enthusiasm to do anything! Just want to put my feet up and have some 'me' time, as its so few and far between these days. Proposing to do an hour this morning, an hour this afternoon and then the same tomorrow, which should see it near finished - that way I can do some odds and ends I really want to do in between! Would like to make some chutneys but really dont know where to start - if anyone has a foolproof recipe for any chutney I would love to try it - I can make jam well enough but none of my parents liked chutney so my mum never made it. Its HM Mince pie, tatties and cabbage in this household tonight, so quite looking forward to that.
Hope you all have a good day,
SuzyEvery days a School day!0 -
morning all, well the physio went well and i have to go back next week. The boys were surprisingly well behaved, i was shattered so we went ot the cafe for a drink and them some snacks. The cafe is run by the WRVS so its dirt cheap and all proceeds go to charity.
My plan for today is visiting my sister, paying cT and going to mates for tea. Fingers crossed the car will be fixed so we won't need to taxi it.
when were back crack on with the curtains.
Right i'm off have a good day all x0 -
Morning everyone. I'm new here, and am just looking for mealplan inspiration before writing my shopping list and heading into town. My OH started work at a new job a couple of weeks ago after being made redundant 18 months ago (hence only just joining the site, we only got the internet yesterday) and we're resisting the urge to be very frivolous and get some debts/bills paid off. I'm definately looking forwards to DD's nap later so I can check out the other areas on the forum.
I'm also planning on doing loads of washing, as ours has been out of action and having a 2 year old who's a total muck magnet has meant it's absolutely piled up, even with attempts to visit the laundrette....crossing my fingers the rain holds off and I can get it at least partially dry outside.
Have a nice day everyoneToodles-SAHM to a beautiful 3 year old DD, Baby #2 on the way!Just started comping 02/11/11 Everything crossed!0 -
Morning all..............................((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Raining when we woke up, good job OH cut the grass yesterday when he got home from bowls. He is back in bed with guress what????? Yup a dizzy, for some reason it seems he is having a resurgance, does not do me much good.......
Managed to finish another pair of socks last night, am now doing the ones on four pins, did the heel shaping, now I have to finish knitting the foot and shape the toe, I have decided that although the four pin ones are better looking, the two needle method is much quicker, and although they have a seam up the back quite acceptable.
Have just had Landlords cowboy builder here to look at the stove, thanks but no thanks, he does not know the first thing about putting a multifuel stove in and certainly not to HETAS regulations.......he wanted to start tomorrow.....I want to be sure the installation is safe thank you......even if he is cheap.
Not sure what I am going to be doing today, as its still raining no gardening, I cannot get to my machine for the stuff from the sitting room, so no sewing either........
OH has just come wandering through, he has had a piece of toast and marmalade and a cuppa, he will be like a bear with a sore head not being able to get out into the garden, what I am going to do with him through the winter I really d no know.........especially if its a bad one like last year.
The lilies in the sitting room are dropping their petals, so they will soon be over, the sweet peas are still going strong, they will last until the first frosts, which according to the local forecast could be in the middle of next month................uuuuggggghhhhhh.................
I am still getting bitten. guess the little b's are coming in the bedroom window as I had 4 new bites this morning........I need to make up some more of the oil.....we have run out OH used the last yesterday. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
:wave:Hi everyone, haven't posted on here before but have been reading for a couple of weeks and felt a bit rude (like eavesdropping IYKWIM) so thought I'd take the plunge and join in. Grey and damp here today but was up early and had HW done before 8am  as am waiting for the gasman to come and see why we have had no hot water for three days! Today was meant to be baking day but as the cooker is gas and next to the fire with the back boiler I guess that will have to wait until gasman has been and gone. Anytime between 8 and 1 they said we shall see
. Still gives me legitimate time for browsing on here lol. Hope you all have a good day.

Morning everyone - thought I was going to have a really good MS day today - we moved last week and I'm still unpacking boxes. The food we're eating is a bit strange (depends on whats in the cupboard!) but there is loads for me to do.
HOWEVER.... last night our electricity went off - all the trip switches tripped and we couldn't work out why. This morning an electrician comes out and tells me that our fuse box is double wired - which is apparently not good (:() so he's fixed it in the meantime, but coming out next Monday to sort it.
Can see the overdraft being used up:mad:. But on the plus side, moving house has made me see how much JUNK I have and how many Christmas presents I already have - albeit recycled and added to. :TMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Hello all, greetings and welcome Trazy and Toodle.
Penny the Cavalier has now gone home; she was collected at 09:30, so the place is a tad empty. Only for a couple of days though, as I have Pip the Poodle and Pandora the Coton De Tulear making a return visit from Friday til Monday.:j
Underwear wash has been done, as I was in danger of having to resort to blue paint!:D and the BM is on, as I was informed we only have a little bit of HM bread left after Mr LW had made his sandwiches for his lunch box this morning.
Out with Mr LW'a pal A this evening, so dins will be easy-peasy pasta with cheese sauce (I can make this blindfold and standing on one leg).;)
Haven't done my yoga yet this morning, with Penny being collected, so I think I might take time out to do that next.
Have a good day, all.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
