Petrol Stations - A quick vent

Options
I needed a replacement indicator bulb for my car yesterday, nothing special, a 51 plate Vectra.

I tried at 3 different local petrol stations, Shell, Total & Esso.

None had any bulbs in stock at all.

Plenty of sandwiches and gourmet coffee though, oh and cuddly toys, DVDs, alcohol and other such !!!!!!.

So what are you venting about? the fact Petrol stations don't stock car spares or the fact you were too stupid to find a Halfords?
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

I would imagine that far more people buy food in petrol stations than indicator bulbs. Hence the massive supply. I'd be pretty annoyed next time I went in to see rows of shelves with Vectra Bulbs but no sandwiches to grab on the move.

I had the same problem, went to Halfords, 2 interior bulbs for £1.99, dosent sound bad to me, why do people always knock Halfords?

i have to say, i would never go to a petrol station for bulbs, it never occurred to me, the 1st place would be halfords or the local shop-which-i-forget-its-name but is a car parts shop.
really....a petrol station? clue is in the name, surely.

i was however, bitterly disappointed when i went to 'king tuts pot palace', all they had was crockery!

Yeah, my local petrol stations didn't have any car batteries when mine gave up the ghost, can you believe it? I had to go to a MOTOR SPARES SHOP to get a new one :(

Saying that though, the motor spare shop didn't sell petrol, which I found odd...

Must be an age thing then,

A few years ago petrol stations stocked basic items like that because if a bulb blew late at night you could get a replacement, seeing as Halfords don't tend be open all night.

Obviously you are too young to remember or just too thick to realise that?

Good point, except I was only after a bulb and not a battery you muppet.

Then you need to go neither to a petrol station nor to a battery shop, but to a bulb shop instead. It may be news to you that the latter two are frequently the same thing, whereas the first is a totally different kettle of fish. You muppet.
