My current commute is about 10 seconds (bedroom to kitchen) as I'm running a B&B for the summer. In October, I may have to start leaving the house for work.

For me, a long commute has always been the most miserable part of work so I avoid it as much as possible. I think the longest I've had was about 1 hour in London but then I did only 2 days a week in the office and worked the rest at home so it evened out well.

30 minutes in the morning and evening, when the schools start back up again then it will go at least 50 mins to an hour on the way to work and back will take about 40 minutes....damn these schools....

been doing it for 5 years adn you get used to it, used to walk 5 minutes down the road and it was hard to disassociate myself from work as it didnt take m that long to get home so work troubles used to follow me home...

Mine is only half an hour each way on the train, and about 15 minutes walking. It's not too bad- I get a lot of reading done and live really close to the station which is handy. I'm on quite a low wage so it isn't really worth it, but I do get discounted tickets and visit my family often as they live near my work.

Currently 25 minutes each way on my bike unless it's raining in the morning when it becomes a 10 minute drive.

This would prob make a good poll.

Anyway I commute for about an hour each way and have been doing so for about 19months. Its only 35 miles or so but not great roads. The good news is its past some absolutly great views and I can share for some banter these two facts make it a little more bearable.

I used to commute a lot shorter distance but due to working hours it meant I was commuting in worst possible traffic and it took me about 45 mins to get about 5 miles! That was very stressfull and if I was to go back to work there I would cycle!
Here to help and be helped!
