new TV is old one worth anything?

I have just bought a new TV with a digital tuner and trying to figure out what to do with the old cathode ray 28 inch widescreen TV with analogue tuner.

Is it worth anything to anyone or should I try and squeeze it in my wheelie bin? ;)

Can't see you selling it for much - I couldn't even get shut of mine on freecycle.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Found the same prob. recently when I was given a new LCD telly as a pressie. No-one wanted my "old" 28" CRT-too heavy to take to the tip -so I've set it up in the study with a cheapo Freeview tuner and an indoor aerial - gets most of the Freeview channels so gives me somewhere to retreat when the OH wants to watch "Holby" !!!!!

My daughter-in-law found a home at the local hospital for her old TV. She even got a thank you letter from them afterwards - which was nice.
  • Sorry to say that I couldn't shift my TV, which is similar to yours, and ended up getting £3 for it at the local car boot sale!

Good advice about donating it to a local hospital?

Yes they do, but I never asked how to get rid of it, I asked if it was worth anything.
