  • Bum bum bum! £10 profit and A LOT of stock to get rid of. Will try a last ditch attempt at ebay to clear clear clear! It was a nicer day though and I was more relaxed. Got home with sister and kids (still no car :( ) and started 'tidying' to put decorations up. I say tidying when I actually mean reorganising. Have shifted furniture, reshuffled front room and feeling like I've reclaimed my home a bit. And my sister is the queen of throwing stuff away which I like a lot!

Have some more sorting and throwing out to do but now we're making a start on making decorations. :)

Pah to the craft fair Ruby :( Sorry you didn't make much :( But hooray to reclaiming your home! :j :j I'm just about to do something similar, although I suspect it won't be half as successful as you!

Ruby have you been reading the matrix thread? People over there aren't doing well with craft fairs either :(

  • I think a lot of people are just coming along to get ideas. You're right Cheery - pah to it! Tree is up and decorated, am full of roast, have a glass of bailey's and only have 2 more classes and 4 more days of work to do! Whoop! Whoop! Do have a little bit of a sore throat though but shhhh, don't tell anyone.

Am hatching a plan for a girlie spa day with a friend of mine who needs cheering up. I might remember what relaxation feels like!

Cheery I can send my sister over if you like, there will be no slacking! Or hoarding! She's still here at the moment with a broken car. I might try and keep her all the way until Christmas.

Ok, going to sip my Bailey's and plan my class for tomorrow.

Gosh Ruby, your sister's more than welcome here, of course, but I think she might have a job on her hands, and a large fight with Mr Daffs :D

(anyway, the more the merrier round here today - only 3 people (and a dog) turned up to our festive party, and they've all gone home! Currently sewing curtain linings and watching dirty dancing :D Plenty of leftover cake!)

A girlie spa day sounds lovely, and just what you need after finishing off your work! :j :j
  • Ha! We ended up watching dirty dancing to! The car is dead (bad news) but my sister got £150 scrap for it (good news) so she can get home on the train tomorrow (good news) but she can't afford a new car and lives in a rural village (very bad news). I've offered to keep her on as a housekeeper as I came home form work today and my house was clean, the kitchen was sorted and all the laundry was done! Bliss! She pointed out that I needed one on account of the fact that she'd been cleaning all day and there was still more to do. I'm glad it's not just me - I think 1 me to 3 children, 1 boyfriend, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs and 5 chickalicks is fighting a losing battle.

Got letters from Santander and Nationwide today. Nationwide will not refund my charges as they do not feel I am suffering financial hardship (really Mr Nationwide? The only reason I can pay my bills is because I don't buy any food...). and Santander are still pushing me around their automated standard letter department. Harumph. To both of them. Time to get on to the ombudsman.

However, still not feeling down. Have my lovely sister for an extra 2 nights, have food in the cupboards, can pay my bills this month and only have 4 days left of work. Haven't even freaked out yet that I have no confirmed income for January onwards.

Have a little ebay/stock plan to. Will take all unwanted vintage items to charity shop along with pre-Christmas house clearance stuff. Will list everything else on ebay with immediate effect and plan to start the new year with a few key bits of furniture to work on and sell. The only problem with furniture is where to keep it!

Right have an application form to fill in. No rest for the wicked ;)

Wondering how your sister would feel about a day spent listing on ebay?

  • I suggested that Mags when we were brainstorming and she said she'd tried that but nobody wanted her old c**p! In fairness they have been very broke for a very long time and don't have much spare money for luxuries :(

Managed to finish the Christmas shopping for the kids last night. Slightly over budget which was mainly because of postage charges I think. Need to shop for the boyfriend now and crack on with making for everyone else.

Filled in application form last night and have an interview for new school tomorrow. Wish me luck!
