  • GRRRR!

£1.10 into an unauthorised overdraft, forgot about the account fee that was to be debited. Really annoyed, no money in that account until Tuesday :( £15 of potential charges. Wonder if they'll charge me?

I have cash in the house, but it would cost me £3.50 to get the bus to the bank and I really grudge paying for the bus!(and need the money for next week)

Have you got another account with online banking you could transfer the money from? If you pay the £1.10 in before the end of the day it should negate any charges.
  • Hello :)

I didn't have anything in any other accounts, lifted it all yesterday to put into saving pots. Thankfully got a lift up to the bank, paid in some bags of coppers, £12 paid off my CC. Will have to pay £5 in charges, came off 1st. Won't make that mistake again!

  • No dramatic changes in debt reduction, just chipping away at it.

Sent an old phone to be recycled (using quidco :money: ) Couple items on FB selling pages and resisted treating myself to a Valentine's takeaway!

Grocery budget is looking like it's going to be £30 over. Only because I treated us to dinner out for baby penny's birthday last week. You got to live right? Nothing was put on credit card so I feel I'm making small improvements :rotfl:

Opened us all savings accounts, with little pay in books :A

None of my direct debits have come off yet this month, debt is standing at £10,798. Lowest it's been for years.

    Happy days!

  • Hello :D

£68 for my old mobile came into my account yesterday and was whisked straight to Bcard. Balance is now sitting at £4,219.03 (Mothnly interest was added this morning, but it was £3 less than was estimated :money:) Another £30 off it on 28th. Really pleased with how it's going down.

£40 FB/Ebay sales, again to CC - well £30 of it did. The other £10 was split between a gift for a friend and the window cleaner!

The only thing that has really slid this month has been gorcery/eating out bill. It's around £50 over what I had wanted to spend and I'v gained 6lbs from all the rubbish/alcohol :o

However, my debt is still going down and I'm still on track to meet the mini targets I set myself for Feb. These were
    1. Get BCard down to £4,215 (not including interest)
    2. Pay off catalogue
    3. Have CC2 down to £1,700 (it's sitting at £1,735.50 and I'll be making a payment on 28th of £35.50!)
    4. Have overall debt down to £10,400 (this is looking to be short by about £16/17, but I didn't account for the interest added to my load (£22ish) and the BC interest (£10ish)
So yeah, still pretty pleased with my progress! We even have £40 saved for Christmas and between our savings accounts we have £46. Not huge amounts but you gotta start somewhere!

    Total as of today: £10,602.29
Payments still to be made: £185.71

I can't wait to get down to single figures, it feels so close. I won't manage in March, but I'm not going to get down about it because I know I'll be there early April :) Just gives me a little while longer to thing of a new awesome diary name! :rotfl:

  • Don't really have anything to report, just wanted to stop in and remind myself how far I've come. Having a bad day and I want to spend money, lots of money, not my money (I haven't got any!) credit card money. I want to buy make up, expensive scrubs/toners. I want to order pizza. I want to buy a new hair dryer. I want to buy new jeans. I want to buy a new pushchair. I want to go to the hair dressers and have my hair dyed properly. I want to spend money on being pampered. I want to buy the kids all the games they ask for whenever an advert comes on the TV.

Hopeful the urge will pass soon! I only have £40 'extra' to pay off my debts this month (I thought it was £80, but a shortfall in rent has ment I've had to 'take' from the potential Bcard payment) Is it always going to be like this? Fell like I'm getting somewhere then something crops up? I assume that's what rainy day savings are for? i want to save, i want to have the money to put aside each month for things. I want my online savings accounts to be named things like Car Expences, Holiday, Bits and Bobs.

I'm fed up looking at the online banking every day (mostly 3 or 4 times a day, even though I know it hasn't changed!) I'm fed up writing every penny down, I'm fed up that it's taking so damn long. I'm fed up I didn't deal with this sooner. I'm fed up doing it myself. I'm fed up noone knows how high the debt is, (lets face it it is a lot of debt for one person under 30 with NOTHING to show for it. Absolutely squat) or even that I'm in debt. I'd love for someone who knew, in real life, exactly what I'm dealing with. Someone who would say well done, someone I could ask advice about it all. I want to say to someone I have 10.5k worth of debt, actually say it outloud, with my voice. I've never said it.

Woe is me. I will never be in this position again. I'm not saying never to debt. But I'm never letting it get this huge again, this big it's all I think about. It's consuming. Don't get me wrong, when I have money to throw at the debt, I love it. I love seeing the numbers go down. Inbetween is the problem. It's never even a long time between debt payments, but it feels like months. How can I fill in the gaps? I was doing meter readings earlier, looked down at it and I'd automatically put a pound sign infront of the numbers . I did the same yesterday in my food diary £3 bananas, £2 apples!

Feeling very meh about it all now. I've learnt my lesson now let me be debt free!!
    I'll get there!
  • Aw MrsP, don't be fed up!

Have a look on fragrancedirect in the clearance area, you can get some real bargains there...will a nail varnish for £1 cheer you up?

  • :wave:Hi LL. How are you getting on?

Feeling a bit better, I did have a little bit of a 'splurge', well I say splurge but really all I did was spend £44 on some new clothes. £5 was a voucher and I returned £9 of it :o:o A little blip

    Anyway!

My spending this month has been shocking. Just totalled everything up

    Travel: £35.50
    Entertaiment: £76.26
    Clothes: £30 (after returns/voucher)
    Other: £127.19
    • Toddles birthday £61.73
    • Other birthdays (2) £20.97
Food/eating out/groceries..... £250.40 :eek::eek: (£63.79 of which was takeaways and a meal out) Horrified! Really need to pull that back in next month!

Debt I'm taking into March with me: £10,487.49 (still a £9 refund to go back onto my CC)

£487 off the debt total, really could have done better this month. I did really lose track a bit, no excuse just laziness. At least it's going in the right direction.
    I'll get there!
