Paid another £200 off my credit cards this morning :j
Meaning my new balance is £10,061 (rounded up!)
Still my loan payment to be taken on 26th, which is £104.23. Then interest added, guessing £25 ish. Then I'm under 9!!
Need to go back and see how long it has taken me to pay off that £1422 I needed to get down to below ten.Brings my cc debt down to £5,590. That's my forcus now, getting this halved (£2,795) If i keep up the payments of £400 per month to both, I should take me less than 7 months. (by that time the loan should be down almost £500 also, but I'm not 'counting' that at the moment~)
New plan:
£300 per month to CC2
£90/100 per month to Bcard (depending on miniumu payment)
All interest free until CC2 starts to charge on September 17th, the BCard on 27th January 2014.
Reasonably pleased with myself, that although the debt is huge, I'm paying very little interest per month on it. Let's keep it that way
Happy Thursday!xxI'll get there!0 -
Happy New Year MSE'ers

CC1: £4,609 (0% ends Jan 2014, £600 is on 29.9%)

Debt busting is boring!
EBay listings don't end until tomorrow, housework done, kids settled, had dinner. Bored. Bored. Bored!
That is allI'll get there!0 -
stick with it lady - you are doing really well
Sort yourself a hobby that you can do while the kids are settled. I tried tidying up as some form of entertainment when I was newly single-mum'd, but gave it up as a bad idea :rotfl:0 -
Thanks jo91.
I do need a hobby, tidying up is no fun at all! Must not stuff my face either!
Think I'll look into online surveys....I'll get there!0 -
Just at a loose end this afternoon. Having my 5th NSD of the month.
Eb@y sales are looking like £10, which is nice! Counted £35 worth of coins over all my jars. Somehow lost all my recipts from Wednesday and I know I spent, just can't remember where or how much. That'll teach me not to skip a day of writing in my spend diary.:o
Might pay off another pound to Bcard, get it under the £3900.

Oh, thinking about paying off my overdraft next month. Not sure how I could do it or If I could recoup the money (I'd be using April's CC2 payment for it, so I'd need to catch up and find the £40 odd minimum payment for the CC also. it would probably interefer with my plans to pay the card off before the interest free period runs out) Hmm. Don't know, willl have to think about it a little more, just getting a bit of a buzz tying up all the wee piddly debts that are flapping around!
I could maybe cash my coins in (but ti'm enjoying watching it grow and like to count it out!) use ebay sales (but that would probably leave me with another £250 ish to find) I don't want to drag out reducing it by £50 each month, I just want to pay it and get rid!
Any ideas how I can raise £300 in April??I'll get there!0 -
Eb@y sales: £22.95 :j
Only £277.05 left to raise!
Oh and NSD number 6
Got some spending to do tomorrow:
Slimming: £4.95 + 50p raffle (not that I'm losing anything at the moment! or for the last few months!)
Possibly a bus ticket if the weather doesn't cheer up a little, £3.50 (really really grudge this!)
Got £19 to last me until Thursday, some Healthy Start Vouchers for milk/fruit ect. Need £3.50 for bus on Tuesday, £1.80 for Baby penny to go to the creche while the oldest is at his football club. Not going to have my usual £1.50 cuppa in the cafe while I wait for them. Doh, just remembered that needs renewed this week. Grr. Haven't budgeted for the £30ish that costs a term. Hmm. What to do about that. Boys have some money in their Credit Union Account. Might have to take it from there. It was suppose to be holiday savings for the, but I suppose it's best I use that than put it onto my CC.
Also have £30 that I need to use to buy three birthday presents for (I'd ideally like to have £5 left of this, we'll see)I'll get there!0 -
Hi there Mrs Not a Penny,
I hope you don't mind me stopping by, I have read through your thread and just wanted to chip in to say, well done! Keep going, it can be soooooo boring having to watch every penny but you're making real progress so don't be hard on yourself. Be proud of yourself!
Cake x0 -
Thanks Cake! That must have been a bit of a read
Chip in any time, I really apprecitate the encouragement.
Just stopping in to have a wee grumble about interest being added, BCard is now at £3904 (managed to pay for the footballl classes with the Credit Union money, sure was glad it have that!) and Loan has went up to £4,192.
Waiting on one Eb@y paymentm typically the largest one!
Hope you all have had a nice day.xxI'll get there!0 -
I know I shouldn't be, but I am!
Today I treated myself to a new lipstick, DS2 got a hold of my favourite one wayyy back in December and wrecked the wand. I've been making do with a cheaper one, but it's no lasting power and was desperate for some Mx F@ctor! £10.99  it cost me (even though I did shop around and found an offer where I got a free lip pen worth £6.99) I spent the whole morning umming and ahhing over it, checking out best deals online etc I would have just tormented myself over it (It really does make me feel wonderful though!)
I also bought the kids Ice Age 4, it was on offer for £5 in Mr A's. I also spend a tenner ish on some pizza for them, some crisps, juice and got myself a nice chicken thing and some extra special potatoes (to be fair though, the potatoes and crisps will last the week) Also needed a few essentials, oil, grease proof paper (we've been making our own oat biscuits instead of buying them) some fruit, milk and yogurts. So that totalled £14. Oh, and a bus ticket I hadn't planned on buying, £3.50.
£33.50 un-budgeted for. In fairness to myself, I have reached all my Debt Busting targets for this month, topped them in fact (seeing the 9's this month rather than next) I had a spare £50 that I have added to eBy sales to go towards the overdraft repayment.
I feel quilty, even though I haven't had my cheap weekly bottle of wine (£6.49) didn't buy my favourite shampoo (despite it being on offer! 2 for £6.99, in fact haven't bought any scrubs, shower gels at all this year, using what I have first) No takeaway this week, walked to my voluntary work this week (and back) Didn't have a cuppa in the cafe when waiting on DS1 finishing his football, we didn't have our Friday Bakery Treat (£1.35) I haven't bought a magazine for months either (although I am planning on getting one on Monday - budgeted for!) I also turned down a friend's birthday night out tonight, mainly because I couldn't get a sitter but even if I had I couldn't justify the cost (and we have a night out next month)
How am I to allow for these things? How do i budget for nights out/treats? Do I save up little from my weekly spending money or should I allow for it in my budget, under 'Super Treats' or something? Then if it's left at the end of the month, then it can go to debt repayment or savings? Will I ever stop feeling guilty about spending on myself? Certainly changed days for me!! :rotfl:
I can't believe how much time I have spent dwelling over a ten quid lipstick!!Well, I've bought it now and I love it. I will absolutely wear it every day, but only once a day so it last longer :money:
I'll get there!0
