  • good to be back :)

Thursday is the day that my weekly standing orders go out, I've got £13 spare this (thanks free council tax months!) Think I'll send it to barcl@ycard.

Debt as of today: £11,383 :j

Not much else to report. Looking forward to not paying council tax or my phone contract next month and using it to pay something else
    I'll get there!

When I had my first (of many) LBM, I did all the usual stuff searched for cheaper utilities, made enquiries about returning my car, cut sky and used the debt remedy on CCCS (Stepchange) The result of the remedy was to call them to arrange a DMP. Which obviously I didn't do (although I did seriously consider it and for a few months at the beginning, I wished I had)

So! Today I was a bit bored and thought I'd see what the debt remedy suggested now I've paid a bit off. Absolutely thrilled when it told me I had enough money to service my debts :j

I know it's a silly thing to be excited about, but seeing it there in front of me gave me a boost :) Actually can't wait for my next lot of standing orders and DD's to come out my account to see that balance going down!

(slight spanner in the works though, decided to pay my tv licence monthly rather than quarterly but they have to set my DD at £29.10 for the first 5 payments, bit of a pain but never mind)
    I'll get there!

  • Hello diary :)

Spent the last hour reading through my diary. Want to share this:

    Debt Record

    August 2009 : £21k
    August 2010 : £18,917
    August 2011 : £18,801

    6/9/11: £16,221
    4/10/11: £15,981

    18/1/12: £16,828
    31/1/12: £11,206
    2/4/12: £10,789
    25/8/12: £11,861
    22/11/12: £12,109
    28/12/12: £11,674

    1/1/13: £11,578
    10/1/13: £11,383
    17/1/13: £11,274

(I'll bold the dates when I get onto the computer)

So there it is. Don't know how I feel about it, I'm about where I was this time last year. I hope I'm in a better position this time next year. Tomorrow will see me another £100 off my debt. Few more standing orders to come off, totalling £112 and a direct debit of £105.

    January is going so slowly!
    I'll get there!
  • just a wee update, paid off my £100 overdraft this morning! Yeeeaaahhh!

    one less creditor :)

Had to stop next Thursday' s SO to Barclaycard £46. I'm due the gym £35 from when I cancelled my direct debit without filling out the cancellation forms. Sigh. Never mind!

    Good news on OD.
Was the SO to BC an extra payment?

yeah, I've paid the remaining £11 towards BC. Going to try and 'make it up' over febuary. If not i'll still have paid about £219 to it this month :) (minimum was £105)

  • :) Hello!

Not much to report, mainly plodding along. Called my sofa finance company today, balance is now only £114.70! That's fifty pound less than I thought!

Had a wee day of financially housekeeping, managed to reduce my gas bill by £6. Not a huge drop, but every little helps. Also, somehow, I had managed to squirrel away enough money this month to book our wee Sun holiday, felt good paying for it with proper money rather than credit (even though it was only £30 odds) Counted some of my change that was in my pots, £20 in them already. Also got £30 away for Christmas already.

    January seems to be dragging!x
