Hi MrsP,
Hope everything is still going well for you.
Im feeling a bit happier this week but it will only be until I receive a solicitors letter from ex probably. Did you get your letter regarding the £50 repayment plan?
I get nervous every time I receive a letter from solicitor, wondering what ex is going to do next.

Well diary, sorry for neglecting you the past few months, I had lost my moneysaving motivation. I need to get a grip. I'm typing this from my new laptop (that I paid for with my credit card, yes, the one that charges 29.9%!)
I need to get a grip again. I wonder if money saving is like dieting? Is this always going to be a battle for me? Is it going to have to be, like food, something I always have to think about? Sigh.
So debt goes a little/a lot, like this:
Credit card 1: £4,504 (£500 of which is charged at 29.9%, rest 0%)
Credit Card 2: £ 1,841 (0%)
Overdraft: £300
Loan: £4000 ish (6.4%)
Sofa: £328 (0%)
Mum: £60 (0%)
HMRC: £21 (0%)
Job Centre: £ 750 ish (0%)
Catalogue: £57 (0%)
Total: £11,861 ish
However, I know it needs to stop now! There are a few positives though:
PPI claim of £260 came through this morning, ex should be paying an extra £50 pm very soon (so really my debt is less £2,250) the £100 the council still owe me is still waiting fo rme to write a short letter to claim it - I'm so lazy. And I'm about £190 credit with utilities. (so maybe £2,800 I'm 'owed' if you like)
Think I've had another LBM - looking at cars on gum tree thinking, 'I could just withdraw that from my Credit Card and pay it back....' Eh, hello? Are you mad?? :rotfl:
As of today, I am changing my spendy ways! Got somethings to take back to Primark that went on my card yesterday and then it's getting cut up. Few bank charges this month, £10 which isn't too bad and £3 'cash transaction' fee on my credit card from the weekend - first time ever I have withdrawn cash from a credit card, but I was pretty desperate!
Yeah, so that's me. When boys go to bed, I will catch up and have a guess at a new SOA.xI'll get there!0 -
Hi MrsP,
Glad to see you back.
Sorry you have fallen off the wagon, you'll soon get it all sorted.
Hows life? Im still battling the same things with ex...it is very tiring.
Onwards and upwards.

Hi
I've just read through your diary today and wanted to say how far you have come
If you look back and read your diary over, you will see that your attitude has changed so much. You now understand so much more about the way your actions impact and what you can do to control it
No one can follow "the rules" all the time but keep going, you will get to a better place!0 -
Hi
Just read your thread and whilst I think you are very strong I also think a DMP may be a good idea for you. We've recently set one up and I can't tell you how much of a weight's been lifted from both DH's and my shoulders. Whilst you have temptation in the form of CCs, it will always be tough - when that option's removed then you have no choice xxDMP starts June 2012, £38,180.
Balance June 2015 £26,046 (paid off 32%)

Thanks ladies
I'm considering the DMP, but I'm still not sure if it's for me. I've never missed any payments and the thought of missing one scares me a bit!
Livvy, I'm really good, appart from a little relaxed on the money saving and the dieting I'm in a good place, tired with the kids getting bigger and more demanding though. Started a course at the local college (3 hours a week, just IT/Numeracy, while kids are with ex) something to put on my CV which doesn't affect me financially and gives me a bit of adult intereaction! I'm just half way through catching up on your diaryx

Hi MrsP,
I'm glad you're good. Yeah I agree with kids getting more demanding the older they get, DD is almost 4 and she constantly tests me. We have introduced a reward chart for good behaviour and now she is at school nursery she really wants to impress the teachers, so I am hoping these two things bring back my little angel. I think some one has swapped her for a brat ha ha.
Great news about your course

Thanks 'LL
I've had another lbm, what's that? About 15 now?
my debt hasn't went up too much since last posting, it's standing about £11,674. Thankfully ex has started paying his share :money: only this month but what a difference! Did a very mse thing today and cancelled my phone contractso that'll be an extra £20 per month, if I can stick to £10 top up budget.
I'm getting there. still 7k off since I started the diary and 10k off my highest total around August 2009.
I've set up weekly standing orders for paying off my debts, I was trying to budget monthly on a weekly 'pay', it wasn't getting me anywhere very quickly, so I'm giving weekly a go. I'll try anything to quicken this up! :rotfl:
I'd like to half my debt in 2013, around £5837. £112.25 a week. I'm paying about £368 a month at the moment. I think I need to over pay £20 a week.
I'd also like to take my kids away for a caravan weekend again next year (£9.50 Sun holiday?) Went on one this year and kids loved it, I think we need it to break the year up, set myself a £260 budget for that (which we'll need to save from other areas of our new budget )
Got our wee sealed pot ready to start saving for it in January.
2012 was a good year emotionally, 2013 Will be a good year emotionally and financiallyHi MrsP,
Lovely to hear from you. I hope everything is going well for you.
