  • LL i shope your ex has got his finger out! It's so unfair of them just to walk away and leave us to sort everything out. Just selfish

EE is was just a 'proposal' from the my solicitor, about child arrangements, pension, debts, ect. It just advised I was starting legal proceddings and that he was to get his own legal advice.xx
    I'll get there!
  • Lovely to hear your back focussed again. I agree you sit it out, it won't be long before you have a bit more money.

Happy Birthday DS2. It sounds like he had a lovely party and for little cost too.

Well I am taking the bull by the horns this week, if Moses won't go to the mountain and all that. I have resigned myself to the fact he doesn't do anything he doesn't want to so I am sorting things myself. The only thing that annoys me is things I can't do like getting him a new loan to take my name off the current one. So I have rang up the loan place, got the amount he owes and sent him the details in a text.
Yesterday I told EON he has left and I didn't know where he was so they would change my name to account owner.

    Sod em all!!!!

    Hi LL :)

Thanks for the message. Been crazy busy with the boys, DS2 is properly on his feet and they are both running rings round me at the moment :) I can hardly keep my eyes open beyond 8pm!

So, wee update. Ex's solicitor has proposed he pay back £50 pm for the next FOUR YEARS for his share of the debt. I'm going to accept, I won't get any more from him and £50 pm will make a huge huge difference to me.

Debt is now standing at £10,789 ish so I am pretty content to plod along, I'm hardly paying any interest a month, managed to move my big overdraft onto an 0% deal, well £900 of it and I managed to pay the other £300 off myself (well pleased!) I did have to increase the BOS overdraft by £50 BUT only for a day and I phone up and reduced it again once I was in credit again. That felt good to! :)

Plan now is to reclaim PPI, done a bit of research today and think I might have a case on my loan/old CC's ect, worth a try hey? (I will but stamps before they get too expensive :money:) Also get my wedding dress sold and (still) reclaim the council tax credit of £104 sitting on my old account.

Been seeing a new man to :D early days but he's restoring my faith in the species! Lost 3 stone in total now and feeling better than I have in a long long time :) Everything *seems* to be going well!

Oh and I should be better off by about £54 pm in the new tax year (between tax credits and increased income support) add that to the extra £50 pm ex will be paying soon and the amount I'm 'saving' each month in interest/car expenses.

The college is a no-go unfortunately - the course is full time and they can only fund 1 full time child space (full time education would also affect the beneifts - and I wouldn't be able to get funding from SLC) working is a no-go as well, a return to work calculator (at the job centre) says I'll be £20 pw week better off in a 20 hour a week job BUT I'd lose £6.30 in milk tokens and they only accounted for £9 in travel expences.

HOWEVER! I spoke to Job Centre and they put my in touch with our local councils 'action' team, which basically provides those who have been long term unemployed with oppertunities to better themselves, the help with CV's, voulenteer work and courses (they are running a first aid course with free creche that I'm going to attend) I feel it will keep me in the 'loop' and when my youngest does go to nursey I'll hopefully be able to prove that I haven't just sat about waiting for them to grow up and I do want to get back to work. I have a 1-2-1 advisor, who's lovely, and I don't feel so doomed now. I will get off benefits and teach my boys good ethics :)

Wow, huge post! Hope everyone's ok - excuse the typo's a friend bough me a lovely bottle of wine (probably the reason I'm not ready for my bed!)xx
    I'll get there!

Forgot to add, the car finance place accepted the £210 offer as full and final, which my parents lent me and I'm paying them back at £30 pm (thought I had posted that, but can't find it!) So thanks MSE for letting me in on 'full and final' offers!

Also, life without the car is actually not as bad as I though! The bus service is regular DS1 behaves (still a novelty) on the bus and when he does play up a bribe from Poundland usually sees him good again. We've had loads of visits to the park and are getting out everyday because I'm determined to get the use out of my weekly bus ticket. It's £10 and I like to make sure I get at least £20 out of it!

    I think that's all! :)

    Hi MrsP,

Am so glad you're finding your feet and everything is looking up for you. You will have to tell me more about your new man.

I have lost a lot of weight too through stress, unfortunately I didn't have anything to lose so am looking a bit scrawny, but I'm trying to eat regularly for DD. At least our babies keep us going.

You're well on your way to your New Fab Life now and I'm so pleased for you. Let's hope all that worry & stress is a thing of the past. I told you 2012 was your year...I have to say you have done so well in making it that way.

  • Hi!

Not much happening here, just carrying on. Cut up my Barclay card, as predicted, I got a little spendy on it (only £93, which I paid off again - it just impacted on my £200 pm plan) I can still pull it back on track again, only just though!

Clearing out my house this weekend and I'm going ot be ruthless! Clothes are getting recycled (cash for clothes opened here a while ago) I know I'd get more on eB~y but I just can't be bothered listing and they'll just sit about in bags taking up precious space. Anything I haven't used for a while or forgotten about is getting eB~y'd!

Treated myself at the start of the week to a takeaway - first in months and I really enjoyed it, more than when I was having one a week :o

Got a pound coin jar, which at last count had £50 in it :T (need a new microwave and new towels, but too scared to spend it! I'll make do for the time being)

Yeah, so that's about it. Only a few lbs until I get to a healthy BMI so I can stop paying for my slimming club, I'm going to take up swimming or something instead but at least I'll have a few extra pounds a week to play with.

Waiting on solicitors to organised ex's £50 repayment plan and I'm the happiest I have been in years. I feel like I'm getting on top of things, everything is on track to be debt free in a few years and getting back into work with a clean slate (for want of a better phrase!)x
    I'll get there!
