Hi Mrs P,
To cut down on my takeaway spends I tend to buy my fave pizzas (steak ones from M&S and cheesy garlic breads), halve them and put them in the freezer. They only take 12 mins to cook and although expensive not half as bad as a take away, so I still feel like I have endulged but better on the purse. Not found a sub for a chinese yet though although I managed to make a nice satay sauce and the prawn crackers are gorg from Ald*s.

Thanks LL, I need to get something tasty and quick for when I'm in a rush/lazy!
Ok, feeling loads better the past few days after a really rough couple of months. I slept last 9 hours last night, first time in months I've had more than 3 hours. I feel like I've turned a corner.
Got loads done in the house, overdraft back on (although I've moved all next months DD's and I'm just going to put the £120 needed to reduce the overdraft - plus about £30 to cover interest) the car is going next TuesdayLittle sad, but it's going to free up about £180 in finance and insurance a month and knock 5k off my debts, meaning I'll be able to get down to single figures by the end of the year. :j
I think I'm ready to go back to work now, 2010 I was made redundant, DS2 is heading towards his first birthday (aww, my baby boy!) and I need to be me again. I love being a Mummy and I have two fabulous children, but I need more. So tomorrow, I'll be calling around some nurseries in town to see if I can visit Monday before the car goes, try and get round them all in one day. Also, be making an appointment with the lone parent advisor, see what they can advise.
Very Happy Tuesday!xxI'll get there!0 -

Hi MrsP,
What a lovely post yesterday, you are much happier in yourself with a plan of action.
Things will work out for the best I know they will, there comes a time when we need to go back to work for a bit more conversation and stimulation...plus there is the bonus of more money. Good luck with your nursery visits, DD goes to a lovely nursery close by my place of work...its just expensive, but she is worth it.

Yeah, going back to work will do me the world of good (and the boys) I'm still in the same 'place' as I was when I first separated, at home, unemployed and in huge amount of debt. I feel like going back to work will help me move on and that can only be a good thing!
More good news today! Car getting collected on Tuesday and I've just spoken to the finance company who have said if the direct debit comes off tomorrow, it'll be refunded :j £156 'extra' to pay something off with, probably throw it at the N/wide account.
Speaking of the dreaded N/wide, I got a letter fromt hem today saying they are refunding any charges form 16th and 19th January as a gesture of goodwill. I'm happy with that, I can't be bothered to argue with them. I'm not going to use the account anymore, just pay in what I need. A couple of debits to move after this months and that's it! Good riddance!:p
Got an appointment at the Job Centre on Friday with the lone parent advisor and I'm going to view some nurseries next week.
Baby snoozing, Toddles playing 'big cook, little cook' and I'm getting time to catch up.
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted, I really hope it continues!xxI'll get there!0 -
Aw MrsP, everything is coming together for you. I am so pleased, I love action plans they help you stay focussed. You will be a lot happier when you have moved on and making your own money.
Good news about your car, hope it doesn't cause you too much inconvenience. Have you considered getting a cheaper one or do you think you will manage?

Yeah, I'll get another one eventually, 12 month maximum. Something else to focus on. Thinking about selling my wedding rings, I've no use for them and they were expensive, even if I get half back I'd be happy. Still got the council tax money to get back, but it means having to converse with the ex so I'm not crazy keen on doing that yet!
Hopefully I'll get a job in town, making it easier for buses/nurseries. I think my parents/step parents and inlaws will help if I ask occasionally.
Yeah, good day!!xxI'll get there!0 -
Not much to report today, well except from the £210 payment I made to my credit card!
The minimum was only £73, but I had the 'spare' money (the car payment wasn't taken) so instead of letting it lie in an account and it wittiling away to nothing, I threw it at my card. Hasn't made a massive dent, but it'll help :money: Balance down to £3,501.92. I'm aiming to get this below £3.5k before Feb, a couple of PAD'S should do the trick!
Avoided a takeaway last night and bought a couple of 'special' ready meals for the freezer today. Splashed out and bought DS1 a £3 DVD, he's been so good these past few months, takes everything in his stride. Let us off with having dinner in the kitchen, so we all watched it with a cheap pizza in the living room. He was in his glory! Here's hoping he'll always be as easy to please :rotfl:
Oh, and I signed up to do a course at the local college. After having a returm to work meeting at the job centre, with the Lone Parent Advisor, I realised I'm going to have to get some more qualifications, I graduated in 2007 and haven't really done anything since! I should hear back next month. I'll not be earning, but at least I'm be doing something!
Out tomorrow at a party, so I'm looking forward to that (and it's in a local club, so cheapo drinkos!
Happy Friday!xxI'll get there!0 -
