What's the deal?

Throughout August until November Andrex is offering free 1 hour beauty treatments (to over 18s) in various salons across the UK when you collect 8 tokens printed on special packs of its Aloe Vera toilet roll. The treatments available include an Indian Head Massage, Reiki, Reflexology, Acupressure Massage and an Aromatherapy Massage.

There isn't a limit to the number of treatments you can have (though you can only have one of each type), so by stocking up on toilet roll you can treat yourself to as many massages as you like (and lets be honest we're always going to need toilet roll - bums don't clean themselves!)

What do I need to do?

9 roll packs offer 3 tokens; however, if you're a beauty treatment princess (or prince) you should buy 4 roll packs (which give 2 tokens) as you'll accumulate more tokens at the cost of a few more pence per roll.

Morrisons is currently offering 4 packs at 2 for £3.30.

How do I get my treatment?

First check to see if there's a special salon in your area. To do this go here, enter you details and click on your chosen treatment.

Once you've collected 8 tokens, log on to the Andrex website and print out the 'Collector Card' (this must be taken with you when you attend your appointment).

You must register your name, address and email address (but do opt out of receiving marketing material) and then send a booking request online by selecting the treatment you'd like to experience, and your preferred location. A list of salons that offer your chosen treatment will then be displayed; chose one and specify your preferred appointment date and time. Within 48 hours you'll receive an email or telephone call to confirm your appointment.

Appointments are available Monday-Sunday subject to availability and as long as your salon of choice normally trades on your preferred day.

How long is this offer on for?

These special packs won't be available after November; however, you have until May 2007 to claim your free treatment.

Can you find Andrex Aloe Vera packs cheaper?

If you've spotted a better deal on Andrex Aloe Vera click reply and post it below.

Update 22 Sep 2006: Andrex has replied to some points raised in the discussion that's followed this post. Here's what it had to say:

They will find you a salon within 10 miles in an urban area, or 20 miles in a suburban area, and I you can’t find a salon in your area there is a promise that they will contact you back and find one for you. They promise to get you your treatment!

They are recruiting new salons all the time and they about to upload some new salons so it’s worth having a look over the next few days for additional salons in your area.

Also the registering part is not a formal commitment to the offer. You can log on and view availability, treatments and salons without committing to taking part.

We have checked with our marketing agency and for health reasons some treatments are not recommended for an hour. However we do guarantee you will get at least half an hour. Andrex isn’t being stingy (!) and it’s up to each salon and the individual as to how long it lasts.

This is a great offer if there's a suitable therapist for you, but it might be worth checking the list before buying a year's supply of toilet rolls. For instance, there is only one therapist on the list for Bedfordshire (none for some of the therapies), and two for Cornwall. I suspect many people may face an hour's drive to take advantage of the free massage

  • This SOUNDS like a great offer, until you discover that there are so few participating salons. For example, in North Yorkshire (England's Largest county) there are no salons offering Reiki or Reflexology. In fact there is only one salon in quite a remote area of North Yorkshire offering any of the remaining treatments. Considering this has just been emailed to hundreds of thousands of people, I am not sure it is really such a great offer. Great work with the rest of the newsletter, Martin, but I'd just like to warn people to check the availability, and it seems that you have to register on the Andrex website in order to check availability! hmmm

Like sparkymarky said you have to register before being able to check availability which is naughty! But just make up the details and email and you'll still be able to check!

Gr8 find, ill surely be going for one, but looks like one is all i am allowed....All please read the terms and conditions......It states....

Additional collector cards can be claimed. However, each collector card must be for a different treatment and with a different treatment provider, i.e. it is not possible to claim 2 free Indian Head Massages or 1 free Indian Head Massage and 1 Aromatherapy Massage with the same consultant).

...so if ur in a remote area like me, ur only good 2go for 1 treatment! Boo! thats upsetting, coz like Martin has mentioned-beauty princesses wud want a dozen and i certainly one of em:) and wud want to go for atleast 20!

  • This is absolutely fantastic!!! I've managed to find loads of salons in my area (South East & London), some offer all treatments, some a few. I normally pay around £50 for a 1hr body massage as a treat - this is such a bargain and the most appropriate MoneySaving idea MSE has ever given me, thank you!! :j

Can't you just create a new account? I guess it's more a question whether the provider itself is going to refuse you, I think it's pretty easy to get a new collector's card online.

Wierd - it appears that there are no salons at all in Berkshire that offer any of the treatments. That can't be right can it?
