Glad to hear that me being charge £195 made you happy!
also to clarify a bit, Portsmouth to St malo crossing take 11 hours so if you do the calculation (go on, I'll help you):
11 X 2 = 22
so do you actually buy a return to spend 2 hours in France....surely you cannot be that stupid?!? can you...
so that prove that brittany ferries KNOW that nobody would buy their 24 hours tickets to stay less than 2 hours on the continent, unless you are a drug smuggler or a total idiot (like the one happy for other people misadventure) !!Look to me that for a lot of peoples it is not necessary to understand things in order to argue about themDo thanks me if you find my post useful to you

It is possible to use that ticket, so there is no reason why they can't sell it.
It didn't suit your travel plans, so you shouldn't have bought it.
So when were you planning on using the return portion of your 24 hour return ticket and how did you actually come back and after how many days?
By the way, it isn't two 11 hour crossings. It is one at 10.75 hours and one at 9 hours.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

Hi,
But these tickets are offered on a number of routes ....I have used them before for Portsmouth to Caen .... I saw that I needed to return within 24 hours, otherwise they would charge me extra ..... I managed to catch the correct ferry back & never got charged extra .... I thought the extra charge bit was quite clear ....
You bought a 24 hour return ticket, didn't read the t&cs & now blame the ferry company?? I think you need to put this down as a lesson learned - when an offer like this appears, make sure you understand the t&cs!

Hi Everyone, Just a warning that could save you loads of cash!!
I normally cross the channel few time a year to visit my parents, that was the first time I used BRITTANY FERRIES and will be the last, I will also encourage friends and family to use other ferry company
Hi,
As you go from Portsmouth, have a look at ldlines.co.uk - they are cheaper & go to Le Havre from Portsmouth .... they also have a fast ferry during the summer (3.5 hours) - I just paid £190 return, which I didn't think was too bad.

Dear withabix, I'm sure that you visited their site and try to find all the info to post but if you try to look smart at least get you fact right and use you brain....the return is not 9 hours and time are in local time so both leg are 10 hours 45 mins. I'll break it down for you:
you leave Portsmouth at 20.30 and arrive at St Malo at 08.15 so it give you 11 hours 45 mins but sailing time is only 10 hours 45 mins as you go forward 1 hour french time.
i'll could give you the return journey too but rather leave it to you to keep you busy this winter ;-) (hint: don't forget that coming back to the uk you taking the clock back 1 hour)
Don't mind that peoples don't agree with me but don't like your patronising writing style and the "by the way " comment when you can't even do the math properly by yourself mate!:kisses3:Look to me that for a lot of peoples it is not necessary to understand things in order to argue about themDo thanks me if you find my post useful to you

You DO mind that people don't agree with you, otherwise you wouldn't still be digging a hole.
Are you going to answer our very valid questions or just ignore them?
I did indeed get the information from their website, but only because I wanted to understand why they sell that particular fare.
Their own website says:

Brittany ferries 24 hour return is actually valid for 24 hours in France, so you could leave Monday evening to St.Malo, arrive at 8ish on the Tuesday and get the 10ish ferry back on the Wednesday. This is actually 26 hours and can be eeked out to 29 if using Caen or Cherbourg, where they sail to more than once a day.0 -
