Quick question, I'm doing the Southern Fried Chicken for dinner tonight, do I take the skins off the chicken portions or leave them on? It doesn't say in the book.

I would assume you leave them on. Isn't that the best bit of a KFC? :o

  • The cookies in the back of the book are lovely. I made double (I should have used a BIG bowl - it was a bit close by the end!!) and froze both rolls and am slicing off cookies as and when. Perfect for a quick snack after school or for when I had an unexpected coffee companion the other morning! They cook from frozen in about 15 mins I think. Apparently they taste divine, but I can't eat them as they contain eggs :'(

That's what I've done. :D They're all prepared and in the fridge ready to flash fry later then stick in the oven.

I normally take the skins off chicken portions but I also normally breadcrumb them so I guessed they probably needed to be left on for this recipe.

I might make some of those cookies while the oven's on for the chicken. :D

Have your tried Twinks Hob Nobs from this forum? They don't need eggs and taste great plus you can adapt them to your taste ie add cinammon, ginger, dried fruit etc.
