We can look forward to populer areas looking like Benidorm. Lovely.
why do you say that?
have you actually been to any of these holiday places and looked to see how they could be sympathetically developed?
you would prefer they were totally reserved for rich people?
there is a huge gulf between doing nothing and some development0 -

The more housing we build the greater the future demand for housing as the current occupants have children etc. When do we stop trying to meet an increasing demand for housing, when the UK population is 70m, 80mil 200+mil.
I'd rather stop trying now and control population growth then realise this when we have 100+ million in the country facing the same issue but with less room and more overcrowding.0 -

There are positions other than:
- build no houses
- cover entire country in concrete
How about for example that each town and or village was expected to expand by 1 house or 0.5%pa, whichever was greater excluding encroachment into National Parks?
The British approach to 'planning' is pathetic based on the idea that all change is to be feared and fought.0 -

world population is too high; UK population is too high
but what are your sensible measures.... building NO houses is simply not a serious option0 -

There is a significant shortage of AFFORDABLE rental properties in our area. For the landlord to make any profit they must be charging more than the cost of their mortgage and maintenance. Logic must surely tell you that it would therefore be cheaper for the tennant to own the property and pay the mortgage than it would be to pay rent. BUT with the high rent prices it's virtually impossible for many would-be first time buyers to save enough to buy a property if they are paying rent.0 -

I think this is a fair point. It is very difficut to save a deposit while paying rent (unless you want to live like a hermit and never go out).
Unfortunaly, nothing can be done about it.0 -

There is, affordable 100% mortgages'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
