well like all companies after the first month any fault is gonna be repaired by the manufacturer

Probably, but if the fault continues and you need a replacement or any dispute arises, your contract is with the vendor not manufacturer.

Can you recommend a retailer that has a good track record and offers competitive deals?

    You overlook one basic point.

What happens if the phone develops a fault in the first 6 months? How good are they at dealing with that? Do they have a decent CS department?

I agree that treating a cashback as a bonus, but it's when phones go wrong and the company has a poor CS department that also counts.

Can you recommend someone that has a good CS then?

I once had a contract direct with 3. The customer service was diabolical to say the least. A phone was put into them for repair which they did do but it came back with damage that was not there when it went to them. They would not even take any notice of what the store manager said to them.Did not reply to my letters and just repeated the same old thing to me over and over again.

They wanted to charge me £14.99 to repair the damage that they did!!

They could not have cared less so I cancelled the contract which was sometimes £70.00 per month.

I then had someone from sales ringing me up to try and sell me another contract when I explained all this to him he agreed with me that CS make their job a lot harder!!

Thanks, someone who thinks like me! This was my point on other threads. Are they a reliable retailer for the basics of delivering a brand new phone and offering good tariffs?

The cashback element was always a 'bonus'. Also the main reason that I've searched out an auto-cashback deal was so that I can't make any mistakes!

On that basis, it looks a good deal for this with the free phone.
You would find out in around 90 days whether they stick to their T&C's or you need to fight for it. It wouldn't be lost unless they went bust. The main problem at the moment is this is a company who are breaching their own T&C's - obviously this must be alarming until fully sorted.
With the cashback from Quidco or other cashback site (£30), it would work out at under £12 pm, including a free phone.

    Did you go for it??

Want to go for it, and have been wanting to go for various deals elsewhere over the last 3 weeks. But I come on the forum with threads like this hoping to get some feedback or some recommendations.

Was hoping someone would turn up and say " Go for this retailer, wonderful service, etc..."

May go for it later on today unless I hear anything.....

A few months back I would have said just as you wanted, they have been paying, albeit slowly as per their T&C's. Even today there is another negative with this company, but remember we are dealing with mobile phone merchants, very similar to say used car salesmen with their tactics and you will always get negatives. The negatives with this merchant are now echoing previously failed dealers, hence the need to be aware.
You needs are different and have a lesser risk than a full cashback deal and yours should be sorted in around 90 days.
It's mainly the full cashback deals that require the "red light" at the moment though.
A few months before my next claim and I surely won't allow their antics a second time.

That's the thing, they had half price line rental deals but with what I've read these seems more hassle than it's worth for me personally and I wanted to minimise the risk.

At the moment I spend £10 a month on PAYG, and basically this deal would allow me to get a budget smart phone for only a couple of pounds a month - so I thought great deal.

Some reassurance was all I needed but I've found myself more stressed than ever after reading some of the horror stories on here.

As long as they can deliver a free handset quickly and efficiently, and any cashback deal on top is just a bonus. I can afford £15 a month if casback deals don't work out and the tariff seems to suit my needs.

By the way, any advice on improving the browsing speeds, as I've read in a few places 3rd party sellers don't get the same internet deal as direct from the network.

What would you do in my situation?
    1. Go ahead and order the deal through BuyMobilePhones.net, and consider the cashback deal as non-existent until it arrives in my account.
    2. Keep looking for a similar deal and be prepared to wait.
    3. Anything you can suggest!

Despite what the website says, Wildfire is out of stock with BMP and they don't expect any in for at least 10-15 days, so I wouldn't feel as though you have to rush a decision.

My OH ordered one at the weekend and only just found out today that despite what the site said, they didn't have any in stock. She's not too gutted though as I've been having a bit of trouble with a cashback (redemption) claim with them.

This is proving to be far more difficult a process than I could have ever imagined!

Can anyone recommend a retailer (online preferrably with Quidco cashback) that has the following available please!!
    1. HTC Wildfire (free handset)
    2. £15 a month tariff with a reasonable amount of internet usage included
    3. If there is cashback as a gift, that this is reliable
Not asking a lot am I ???

Have you checked the providers' websites? e.g. T-mobile website currently offers:

    HTC Wildfire
    Monthly 15 tariff - £15 pm
    300 mins
    300 text
    Unlimited internet
    24 mth contract

They'll charge you £75 for the handset, but Quidco will pay £20 Cashback, plus if you have an old handset to recycle/sell you can recoup even more.

If the worry of dealing with a reseller is a concern, then dealing direct might be an option.
