I seem to be having contractions, belly is completely solid but bubs is still moving lots. It feels so uncomfortable, is this normal??? They're fairly painful not strong enough to take my breath away.

We have the same boys name we had for DD1 and DD2. Girls names is the problem. I need something that 'goes' with the other 2's

    I hate choosing names..

With my first 4 they have traditional names , my little girl and this one , a boy, have old Italian names . The 6 of them do'nt necessary go together but then again there's 10 years between my first set of children and my second set so its not a problem.

I hate choosing names - its so personal

Exactly why Freja was 6 days old before she had a name!! but mine are closer together.. Tiddles is only 5.. so they had to go together..

My parent gave me and all my siblings a name starting with the same initial. Now when they are asking one of us somehting they just go thru the list, they will get it right eventually. Think Joan, Janet, John, Jane. I hated it as a child and hate it even more now. I need my kids to all be a similar style but different names. I like Daisy and Poppy but OH doesn't. OH has no opinion on girls names because he wants a boy so says he will think names after 20 week scan and we know the sex.

I have a predicament. DD1 knows i am having a baby, I have been so ill and there has been so much talk around her. 20 weeks scan is on her birthday but while she is at nursery so we thought get scan find out sex then have a family afternoon but now the nursery is off for a training day so I am left with either taking her with us or leaving her with my parents and her little sister. Usually we find out the sex but keep it from everyone else and say we don't know but if we take a 4 year old she will blab and I really want to find out the sex.

I took DD1 to our 20 week scan and they wrote Frejas gender on a piece of paper for me..

'We can't be 100% certain but it looks like a girl'

Or ask them to say male/female.. if she won't understand that.. though ours had already referred to her as 'she' before writing it.. and before we even asked..

I also think it is completely idiotic giving children the same initial.. no consideration at all... what about post when they are all older? OH and his sister both have 'A' and unless there is Miss/Mr on the letter.. which a lot of people don't bother with the mail all goes to one or the other.. PITA it is really! I know a family with 7 children and all the children and both parents have the first initial 'M'.. absolutely stupid! Causes no end of trouble

thats exactly the issue pigpen plus of course with 3 girls it was Miss ....... everything from bank statements to exam results and of course we all had savings accounts with the same bank which was then converted into usable debit card account once at that age and with PT jobs etc no one knew who's bank statement was whos. used to drive me nuts.

My Mum would have her no problem but she is getting a bit clingy about me going to hospital, recently when i have it's meant I have not been home for a few days and she misses me. Last time i had 2 drips and a heart monitor and I asked my parents to not bring her incase she gor scared but she got it into her head that I had left forever so they brought her up and she wanted the venflon out my arm and the monitor off and just got a bit stressed out. She has taken to watching me like a hawk and threw a tantrum yesterday because while she was at nursery I took my mum to Tesco and when my dad picked her up from nursery I was not home. I'm lost.

Kitkat - fingers crossed this is it and you get mummy cuddles soon. I never got the taking breath away thing, think it may be because she was back to back so it just was uncomfy. if in doubt call your mw/hospital. they will probably tell you to take paracetemol and see how you go and you will think !!!! paracetemol.

Never really thought about initials in names, but i'm D and OH is L with girls beginning with A, C, E, G, H, K and M. So all in the first half of the alphabet too.

We've already decided on a name for the baby, got one for a boy and one for a girl and they don't clash either, purely by chance.

Only 6 days until midwife....can't wait as it's another step on the road.

Have a good day everyone. I'm going back to bed until midday as been up with OH being ill during the night and my eldest is going to hold the fort and she's pretty mature for 17. I need these next 4 hours as i'm running on empty.

  • Morning ladies. I've been in Germany since Tuesday at a games conference, only got back last night and am shattered so skiving off work today.

I'm going through a bit o 'pregnancy paranoia at the moment. I'll be 20 weeks on Monday, and have my scan that day too. However I'm convinced my stomach is shrinking rather than growing, and I still haven't felt even the tiniest flutter yet.

Yesterday morning I had a bit of reddish cm when I wiped too which sent me into a tail spin (not great when you are on your way to meet a load of international clients). So I'm kind of going to be worrying now until Monday.

My friend from work who is about 3 weeks ahead of me says she can feel her baby bouncing about all the time.

Hugs to all..will try and have a read back and see what everyone has been up to.

    Meh.
