Well ladies DH has now bought me a mobility scooter so we can all get out and about with DS before baby arrives. I was very reluctant but can see his point. We've potentially got 3 months + all together before baby arrives so want to make the most of it and visit places (Longleat is on the list) but DH can't push me round in a wheelchair and keep an eye of DS so the scooter will give me some independance at least. We looked into hiring one, but decided that buying one would be better, we picked one up for half the price hiring for the period would give us and can sell it on at the end and get something back at least.

I've managed to clear all the wardrobe and chest of drawers in the nursery today, put the nappies on for a freshen up wash and have the moses basket and crib bedding ready to be washed in the morning. I've off to a local baby show tomorrow with a friend and hoping to get a good price for a 4d scan and a maternity coat.

Have DH looking through verburdet at the moment so hoping the code will still work.

I'm an internal auditor when I'm actually working, although had planned on being a nurse before I left school, things didn't work out according to plan. I love anything medical so working in a lab would be brilliant.

I never planned on ending up in a lab, after my zoology degree I did a masters in Wildlife biology and conservation - there aren't many jobs in that area! And fell into this job part-time while at uni! Been promoted and I'm now a biomedical scientist and manager! Would still like to work with animals though :D:D:D

She said that they are cleaned but not to a standard that would remove infections - I think it probably only applies to hospitals where there will be lots of different people using it. I would imagine for a homebirth with a new pool the risks would be less. I was really keen on a waterbirth and want to look more into this, however she obviously knows her stuff. It's not something I had ever thought about myself. Sorry for worrying people:(
My mum is a nurse and her ex colleague the infection control nurse says waterbirths are v bad infection wise, so much so that they no longer offer them at their hospital. I need to read into it more too. DH is really not keen, not sure why...think he just doesn't know anything about it.

right, DH wants the laptop so night night from me x

I'm having a waterbirth, but on the other hand, I've also done a mattress inspection and condemned many a mattress for black mould and mildew growing inside the foam!
At this rate we'll mop the floor as we go in and give birth there, lol
I'm hopefully having a second sweep tomorrow to start things, If that doesn't work, midwife on tuesday, if still nothing then I think induction on thursday.
I'd understand if it was winter and they were just keeping warm, but we've had a couple of perfectly nice days to try and lure her out!
    Congratulation MOTM
Hope everyone else is ok and courgette hope baby comes this weekend for you
  • Gems - Thank you! I really want a natural birth but suffer from SPD and thought I may have to fight for the right to be induced early but hopefully I get a consultant with the same opinion as your MW. DD1 was a 10lber and if she hadnt come out the sun roof planned I think I might have struggled slightly with a natural birth lol. Slowly but surely I will build a case or it lol.

hope baby courgette has made an appearance! *fingers crossed*
    DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

    morning all

baby had hiccups after I went to the loo earlier, so thought I'd get up for a bit. Trying the vertbaudet again in dh's name (hoping I can still use my card) at the moment the code is taking £15 off but not doing free delivery so I'll try on another browser!

krystal - was it you who said something about a bargain boots photobook? I've been looking but can't see it online. I have been meaning to do a wedding one for ages!

done a second vertbaudet order, ended up paying £10 for an activity arch for the bouncy chair and 2 cotbed sheets...now will have 6 sheets but as the cotbed lasts so long I don't think this is a problem! It seemed to accept my credit card details again and just put DH's name in, but not had email confirmation yet so I'll see I guess.

It was catwoman I think Rach?

It's supposed to be my lie in day but DH decided lying in bed listening to the children make noise was better than just taking them downstairs so now I'm wide awake... I can usually just doze back off but for some reason, when pregnant, awake means awake and there's no dozing off... So I'm just hiding on the bed with the netbook for a bit of peace instead lol...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thanks Krystal, no wonder I couldn't find it. Will look later.

I've chosen the fabric for my handmade baby change bag and am now going to eat some fruit toast and try and doze for a bit!

For those who are interested the bag is (hopefully) going to be made out of the zoology print in this bundle, with either the coordinating dot or stripe :)

    Congratulations MOTM :j

Think I may be feeling baby flutters (or bubbles). It's not often but I don't think it's wind, so hopefully this is baby :)

@rach - love the print for the bag :)
