They don't listen for a heartbeat at my 16 week appointment... Too much padding between me and the baby...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

i think my at my 16 week appointment i was really 18 weeks, im not sure im all mixed up lol, but i vaugely remember the midwife saying something about she doesnt like checking for the heartbeat before 17/18 weeks as sometimes its too hard to find and it can cause unnecessary worry etc.0

Something very strange just happened to me... I was on the phone to my Nana telling her how I was feeling much better sickness wise, when my mouth really started watering and I thought I might throw up! Managed to get her off the phone and dashed up to the loo just as the feeling passed... But I was shaking all over.... Lay down for 5 mins and the shaking stopped... Feel a bit iffy now though!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I've got my next MW appoint on Thursday (25 weeks) when I'll hear the heartbeat for the first time other than the scans. MW said they don't do it at 16 weeks anymore by us as there is no guarantee to hear it and people worry if they can't hear it, even if there is nothing to worry about.
I'm very sore today, painkillers just aren't doing it and chasing round after DS is making it worse. My friend has had him this morning while I take DH to the docs, She's just sent a picture through of him dressed in a pink tutu and nothing else while her girls are in Spanish dresses! lol0 -

I don't think I will - they've said after 20 weeks it's all community led midwife sessions. Thanks thoughMy debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

we first heard heartbeat at 12 week scan, which was just after 12 weeks I think. Midwife checked at my 16 week appointment also, but she did warn me that it's sometimes not easy to find. Thankfully she found straight away!
Baby's heartbeat has always been quite high, was 150-160 last time but she had just been digging around trying to work out how it was lying!
Well I have now written document headings...every little helps as they say.

Apt went well, baby is 8lb (got a quick scan), I'm 2 cm dilated, my cervix is reducing in length 2 cm, soft, mid /anterior cervix got a bishop score of 8/12 which means I'm favourable - consultants registrar reckons the next 48 hours. Surprised I'm due tomorrow and they offered me a sweep - which I accepted, a bit like a smear two gloved, lubed fingers tickling the babies head so to speak, felt a bit of pressure but other than that not too bad. I've started to bleed a bit but I believe this is normal after a sweep. I'm going for a nice long bath as I feel all gunky then maybe a long walk. I feel a bit crampy since sweep but not building my hopes up.
Good luck Xmas, labour vibes to kitkat and hope everyone else is doing well

Afternoon! I'm going to read back through and see what I've missed. But labour vibes and good luck to those who need them.
Re the heartbeat thing. I'm pretty sure my midwife checked and found it at about 18 weeks but baby kept moving a lot so faded in and out. i didn;t bring my DH either and he was annoyed at not hearing the heartbeat. Next appointment when she was about the check it I asked could I record it on my mobile phone. Hubby was well chuffed I'd thought of it!0
