Reccomendations for a shower enclosure?

Well I've just been looking at that little package - which I must admit looks good. Now, when you say value for money, do you mean you would put these in as a cheap option (I don't mean putting things in the cheapest and nasty). E.g. would you install these in other properties - not the one you live in (again that's not to say any rennovations you would do are cheap ones).
I hadn't quite budgeted for how expensive an enclosure AND tray would cost! :O I could buy two of these (one for bathroom and one for en suite) for less than the price of a Kudos enclosure (near enough), on paper - it looks tempting!!
Good morning: value for money = quality product from an established manufacturer at a good price ...and , yes, the OH does recommend the Twyford range to his customers (see also their 'vfm' Alcona sanitaryware range).

Doh i see what i typed now but still no! i meant 800 quadrant will give less space in the shower enclosure than a 800square as the outer corner in simple terms is chopped off ..got there eventually!
I drew a pretty scaled plan at the time for comparisons and to convince OH we really could fit a 900quadrant in and still have room to get into the room.
Went with the low-profile MX quadrant tray mainly because it had the waste outlet towards the outer curve of the tray where i wanted it ...oh and the Geo6 brochure uses them in their photos.
Tray is usually extra ...i think it's a bit like stereos..seperate bits are better but pricier! Though some of the manufacturers are a bit crafty and produce enclosures that will only fit their trays (some of the kudox one's that aren't standard shapes, ideal standard with their quadrants that have different radii to other quads and so on).
Either way showers are pricey by the time you've got the tray, the enclosure, a decent thermostatic mixer, plumbed it, tiled it, sealed it you don't get much change out of £1k (if any).
I thought you really meant the square ones were larger.
I hate the fact that the parts can be bought seperate on stuff like this, as what if I end up buying bits that don't fit together!as you say some of them can be crafty.

Thanks Canuckle. So you think one of those Tywford Shower enclousures combined with a cavalier tray would be decent enough'?
Cheers again!"The future needs a big kiss"0 -

Hi...
The Cavalier seems to be a good product (haven't had personal experience with one tbh).
Take advice from your plumber re: shower tray as he/she will be the one fitting it.;)
More here.

Canuckle, you're always a GREAT help! Though there's just so much to look into!lol.
I'm off to see the plumber now, he has some brochures for me to look at too apparently. I'll discuss it all with him there and see what we come up with.

We have 800mm quadrant Manhattan fitted about 1 year ago. Its really nice & neat, works well, & seems pretty good quality.
Only problem was the wrong fitting instructions were included in the box, although Customer Services managed to sort that out.0 -
Thanks
After a bit of measuring with the plumber, it looks like I'm going to go for the following:
Twyford Geo 6 with the free cavalier shower tray - 900mm quadrant for the en suite (chuffed about that being bigger actually).
Twyford Geo 6 offset with (I think - half price shower tray) - 800mm by 1000mm for the main bathroom.
I'm probably going to get the fast drainage waste for each room too.
I'm going to call bathzone for a quote.
I figure this will leave me a width of 800mm safe for the width of my bath to fit in. Is that enough in people's opinions? It'll prbably be a bit more like 850mm, but I'd rather side on the air of caution."The future needs a big kiss"0 -

Good evening: excellent news...not much room left for a decent size bath tbh but I can't really tell from here;) Fast drainage waste is a good idea and not a problem for the Cavalier trays.
Let us know how you get on.

A standard bath is around 700mm wide so you should be able to squeeze one in. Though obviously you need room to get in/out.
If you are going for a low-profile 45mm tray then definitely need a fast flow waste. Check what the size of the waste hole on the cavalier trays is but doesn't look that big to me. I'd phone and check. Our MX tray came with a fast flow 90mm diameter trap as standard i think. Check there's also a suitable removeable filter in the waste to catch the hairs too.
Welcome to the Geo6 owner's club!
Thanks! Yes, I'll need room to get in / out. So I need to decide which way to put the door on. It might have to open towards the bath. Though once the door is closed it will mean getting in and out will be easy.
I'm dealing with the company recommended, and asked for tech specs of the trays which they have sent, but the brochure is for aqua dart ones - not cavalier. I've asked if they can confirm.
Where will the filter live? Do you just mean the plug - like in a sink?If you want i'll upload my shower pics for you so you can have more of a detailed look before you buy!

heheh - well hopefully there will be enough space for the bath. Basically it will be replacing ther exisiting one. I spend more time in teh shower than the bath, but still couldn't live without one. Great for when I'm not feeling well.
Thanks guys!"The future needs a big kiss"0 -

Good morning: see here for waste
Just pull up center bit to remove and clean. I think Aquadart and Cavalier are part of the same company (though I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong)
