I can't see the reason why anybody would be entitled to anything for something like sciatica, half the Ambulance staff in the UK have sciatica, or at least the ones that have done more than 5 or 6 years, these people work in the most physically demanding job in the NHS, and still carry people up and down stair many times a day.
This thread does seem to be somebody looking for hints to fill out the form in the correct way to enable a good claim and a motobility car.
My suggestion for the OP, fill out the form truthfully, don't pretend to limp and take some pain killers and anti-inflammatories.0 -
maxmycardagain, could I suggest that if you wish to ask for help on your own claim you start a new thread? Your posts do not appear to relate to the OP's query. I would note that if you do feel that you are a danger on the roads the burden is on you to advise the DVLA of this.[/QUOTE]

Nice to see that you put your own selfish wants before the safety of other people. And you are talking to someone who was told 3 years ago that I am not legally allowed to drive.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

This just demonstrates the nonsense you talk - if you are saying that you are not fit to drive yet will continue to do so, you will inevitably have an accident. Along with injuring others, chances are you will be dead pretty soon. Does this benefit anyone, other than the govt who will no longer need to deal with your claim?Gone ... or have I?0 -

Taking medications isn't usually a problem or disability in itself. I'm taking 18 to 24 tablets each day at the moment and this really isn't any trouble. It is the illness they are needed for that causes the disability.
You can even get tablet cases that sound an alarm to remind you when it is time to take them.
People won't assume you are "jacking up" if you give yourself injections in public. A medical injection is quite obviously different from the ritual of taking intravenous recreational drugs.0 -

If you need tips on how to get on it, then you obviously dont fit the requirement.0

I agree. Th only tips I will ever gives are be honest and giveas much information as you can - don't ever assume that the DM will know that someone with x can't do y.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Sciatica can and often does have differing levels of pain, from a mild twinge in the leg to the most excruciating chronic debilitating pain, impossible to load bare, unrelenting 24/7 for months on end, sleep deprivation, and loss of bladder and bowel control.
Side effects can include drop foot, muscle wastage, loss of mechanical response, and areas of numbness in the leg and foot.
The sciatic nerve (depending on where the problem lies) can suffer permanent damage, and can therefore lead to paralysis.
If the sciatica is caused because of something that is repairable (through rest, physio, or an operation) then you’re one of the lucky ones. If the sciatica is caused because of say a prolapsed disc and you also have degenerative disc disease, making an operation a temporary relief, then your only respite is in a bottle of morphine.
