My OH suffered over many years with gout which caused swelling in joints, and excrutiating agony.

However, the doctor put him on medication which eased the pain considerably. He continued with work until retirement and never considered disability.

Maybe it's just me, but this thread looks very much like someone looking to beat the system by asking the best way to complete the forms.

The new way of MSE perhaps?

I posted the vary same thing earlier today but my post has mysteriously disapeared...

Sadly it is not a new development.

Ive got angina, a blocked artery, sciatica, diabetes, gout, high blood pressure and been told to avoid tension and stress, get chest/arm pains walking the dog, apart from that im fine

my tablet regime almost makes working impossible, and my new injections 2 x daily are gonna take some fitting in, cant do it in public, people will think im jacking up

Having several disabilities doesn't always mean you'll qualify for disability benefits. I have 5 different disabilities. I qualify for disability benefits because I have care and mobility needs - not because of the names.

As for the medication - that's something you get used to. When I came out of hospital 4 years ago, I was taking tablets 4 times a day. It was just something I had to get used to.

And it doen't matter what people think about you "jacking up in public" - due to one of my conditions, I come across as drunk.:o

Without wanting to sound offensive, are you morbidly obese?

Hey I like that - I can't agree with you anymore. I take my Insulin when I need it, not when it is convenient for others.

I have 'jacked-up' in a restaurant, on a bus, even in a pub whilst waiting for food. I don't care what others think.

Mind you I am not looking forward to being weaned off Morphine - have to go to the chemist for Methadone. That will be interesting for the folks in the village!!

And I am sure mine will as well.

MSE is happy with people advocating benefit fraud but doesn't like people pointing it out.

    Strange.

I shall ignore a couple of the troll/keyboardwarriors who stalk me trying to feed off my fame.........(i feel sorry for them though)

i should have posted im ready to hit the DSS with a claim cos im probably a danger on the road doing what i do, and when i have to pack in due to the actions of my local council and DVLA i will be a genuine claimant, forced out of work and onto the scrapheap, surviving on goverment handouts

    oh woe is me

maxmycardagain, could I suggest that if you wish to ask for help on your own claim you start a new thread? Your posts do not appear to relate to the OP's query. I would note that if you do feel that you are a danger on the roads the burden is on you to advise the DVLA of this.
    Gone ... or have I?

Not being legally able to drive doesn't entitle you to disability benefits.
