HI Greenbee,
Have just sorted out the same problem myself.
DS1 16, going to 6th form (and wanting to go to uni after) has p/t job earning £48 per month.
We have opened a bank account for him where he is not able to go overdrawn and we will put in £30 per month.
He is to pay for all " wants" ( contract drawn up with examples e g upgrade of phone, travel expences to girl friends, "fancy clothes").
We pay for all " needs" eg, travel to 6th form, books etc).
On no account will he get an "advance" ( The whole idea is to budget).
Also, he has been told that if he wishes to smoke, that is his choice, but we will not pay for it and all money will be withdrawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We will see how it goes!
HTH, and i will be reading others comments with interest!

DS2 now in bed. That boy is testing me, he and DS1 were standing beside me while we waited for DD. I turn round and there both gone, look round the corner and find DS1. DS2 has decided to run round the building into the car park, where everyone is leaving and it goes out onto a very busy main road. Cue mad running about with Rhys under my arm. One of the staff came and she started looking for him. The little git was in the place.:mad::mad:
This is also the same child who throw half a burger behind the wardrobe because he wasn't fit for it, his words. Then he peed beside the wardrobe because someone was in the bathroom.:mad::mad:
WM on again.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -

Well a sucessful forage trip - 7 more tubs of blackberries in the freezer, and there are still loads to turn :j, located some lovely wild apple trees which are almost ripe, and then found a couple of field mushrooms (and yes I'm fairly sure and have checked an online identification site).
Washing blowing in the sunshine - so best go sort the nasty niff in the fridge.
List is getting shorter..

not too much flying done inside, but lots done in the garden.. well - to be honest, Dad has done loads under my supervision (he's v good at slash & burn, but not so good at knowing when to stop IFSWIM). I did try to plant a hosta in a newly cleared flowerbed, but couldn't
my arm isn't that much better after all..
hoping to get some things off the lists tonight, but atm it's not looking good. Slowly slowly I think

Just got home from our playdate and I am shattered. At least I managed to sort the bathroom before we went, but haven't got much else on the list done so it will have to roll over onto tomorrow. Need to S&S the living room and kitchen once ds1 is in bed and prepare for the evening scream fest with ds2...So, there are these boys,
They kinda stole my heart,
They call me Mummy
WW 37lb (2 STONE 9lbs! :j ) lost since July, 11tybillion to go...0
