  • Hi all, thanks for the replys, I know I should of Insured it in the first place..

No need to be so patronising sporedude & Misskeith, if all you do is scower this forum for threads where you can get on your judgemental high horse, then you really need a woman/man in your life.
  • Check your contents insurance. If you're lucky (or well organised) you wil have personal possessions cover. Don't expect the claim to be sorted quickly, however, and don't expect Vodafone to allow you to jump the queue when it comes to supplying you with a new phone. Having said that, if you do get the insurance money then the common sense thing to do would be to buy an unlocked one from the Apple store. That way, you can flog it next year when the new one comes out.
If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

I presume that when you called Vodafone, you asked them to block your existing sim and the handset too? At least you have some small measure of satisfaction that whoever's taken you phone cannot use it anymore (in the UK at least).

I understand that you may be miffed at their replies, but I think they were probably very surprised at your post and the question being asked. MissKeith may have appeared patronising, but she spelled it out clearly.

However, you do need to check your home contents policy as suggested as some of them do cover eventualities such as this. Regrettably, other than the phone being recovered by police, that is your best bet.

The trouble with the ip4 is that it's so advanced compared with other handsets that it's almost like a mini ipad and even without the ability to text and make/receive calls it could still be used with a 3g mifi to act as a portable internet & entertainment device.
  • got this sorted in the end, vodafone WAIVED the £1008.00 disconnection fee, AND gave me a credit note.
