My toddler touches people!

I don't think it's weird - if they're still doing when they're 42 then maybe. My youngest used to be fascinated by the white fluffy/curled hairdos of old ladies on the bus sat infront of him and gently pat their hair, nobody ever minded, the ladies loved the interaction and thought he was cute.Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame

My OH has always loved satin material since he had a blanket edged with it when he was little and at over 30 now I still provide him with satin ribbons which he plays with and keeps in his pocket.... But it is his secret to shhhhh.:silenced::jMini Coops arrived 2011:j0

My baby is 5 months and she loves hair currently, she is always stroking her hair and my hair too.
The other day she started stroking MILs, so i imagine as she gets older she'll stroke the hair of who ever is holding her.
Im not to sure where i stand on it, i used to work in a nursery and the children always touched my piercings or stroked my fingers, but i dont like random children stroking my baby... lol.0 -
I must be weird, I've always loved my hair being touched and messed around with, and still do now. It's one of the best ways to make me relax if I'm worked up or tense.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Not weird at all. Don't worry! Some people don't like it and social boundaries need to be taught, so I think that telling her gently to stroke something else when she's doing it to a stranger or someone who objects, would help. Maybe having a few pieces of cloth in your bag with different textures might do for those occasions.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

DS1 started this when he was a baby, unfortunately I let him continue and it became his comforter, not good when what they need to sleep is attached to your head:eek: plus as he got bigger he started twirlling my hair in his fingers - which hurt. When I noticed ds2 and then later dd starting the same tendancies I just gently removed their hand and it didn't develop into a habit.0 -
My son loves "picking" dry hard skin. Especially as its summer and we've all got our feet out, he'll often be found on his hands and knees rummaging around our feet and of relatives picking at our dry bits. I've even had to prise him away from my lips or around my finger nails as he's started picking at a bit of skin he's seen.
Strange child, been doing it over a year.0 -
Just re read my post and although out of context it could sound quite dodgy, i'm sure you all know what i mean.0
