if i can go, as soon as i come back im getting a new passport with ph so the f will be gone forever!!! well, i have learnt a lot about travelling in many different areas from this...
i wish i had had a reply from lastminute.com sooner, could have done the 1 week passport and a new visa but of course i know i put my name down different to my passport...but i do still think they could have responded sooner being my 'travel agent'...and at one point emailed me to say my name change has gone through....then another email to say that was a wrong email and it hadnt...0 -
I'm sure that someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I dont think you can change your name on a passport. Surely it has to tally with your birth certificate. You would need to change your name by deed poll, then apply for a passport in your 'new' name.0

I think that is a very good point, paddy2eyes.
I think the OP should check out the direct.gov website (link below) to see how easy it is to change her name when it's time to renew her passport.

So for clarity your name should be with an F as passport/birth cert but you spell it with a PH for some reason ?
It would not be a name change but a correction, they are different and confusion will be inevitable if the wrong discription of the problem is used.
I might be too late but call the airline direct and explain, you would be surprised how many passengers from India have problems with names being incorrectly spelt or even to many letters for the bookings to accept so its not something they dont come across often.0
