Exactly how did he think he would be able to 'take matters further'?

No idea. We did ask him what he meant but he never replied.

We decided the only thing he could have done is a chargeback, but that would have meant him telling huuuge porkie pies! Mind you theres time yet!

Paying for the item is the essential bit of the sale. If no one is willing to pay for the goods then there is no transaction.

I have sold to people without any trouble who have had a few negatives even though they paid on time but had the cheek  to complain that the goods were not as described, fautly or just missing. IMO buyers who use the feedback system properly to leave true feedback are penalised by revenge negs by poor sellers. I don't think feedback should be positive, negative or neutral, it should just be honest, truthfull feedback. Revenge feedback which has no basis should be deleted.

well i went and got the tapes and the batteries this afternoon and it works fine :)

So i now have no issue with leaving feedback however much it has annoyed me by him asking.

mrbadexample i am highly tempted to send that back as a reply though! :rotfl:

  • Seriously... it's an automatic message, no need to take it quite so personally :)

Ebay came up with that message... your seller has just ticked a box that says 'Send buyer a message after x days' and unfortunately it's undiplomatically worded.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

Well, I'd be a bit miffed about having to go out and buy batteries if they were meant to be included!
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I leave sellers alone to leave feedback if they want to. I occasionally have a campaign of contacting those who haven't left feedback after at least 5-6 weeks. It's amazing what this can root out - sometimes I find that items haven't arrived and they haven't bothered trying to contact me. Generally about half of those contacted will leave feedback. I word my email along the lines of askin whether everything was OK,and if so then maybe consider leaving feedback.
