Hijacked links?

:hello:

I'm getting some strange problems with some links I'm using, and don't know if it's my PC or an external problem.

If I Google something, then click one of the links, occasionally it will take me to a completely different site, advertising some rubbish or other, not always the same. If I click "back", and reclick the link, it works normally.

I can only remember one specific link that does it, but it's not the only one. If I Google "betting calculator", and click on the second link (Sporting Life - Betting Calculator), it sometimes, but not always, takes me to some rubbish site that I don't want.

Is it me?

Cheers for any help or advice.

It sounds like you may have a rogue clickjacking Browser Helper Object installed.

If you follow the sticky at the top of this forum section on Malware removal, you should find out if you have anything that needs to be removed.

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ma..._anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and go to UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated go to SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/2894/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)

Ok, the Malwarebytes scan got about 30 minutes or so through, then the PC crashed.

Before I posted this thread I went to run Spybot; the PC crashed when it was updating. Twice.

Something's not quite right here. Any suggestions as to what to do next please?

try a quick scan, if that doesn't work, try it in safe mode.

    Also post a hijackthis log

I have absolutely no idea how to interpret the log, but this bit intrigues me...I have never owned an iPod...what's all that about then?
