We truly believe Never Knowingly Undersold is as important today as it was when we introduced it over 85 years ago. After all, value is something that should last a lifetime.

Well, in this case, 28 days :P

Keep forgetting 4 weeks is 28 not 30 days...

In my experience they don't always honour this pledge though.:(

Depends if it's the same item, in stock, advertised at that price in a real shop and at that price when the undersales team go to look at it.

In my opinion this is wrong.

If you buy something, you pay the price agreed.

Sure, before you get the item delivered the price may go down by £50.

It may also go UP by £50.

If it went up, would you contact them to pay the difference?

    No. Thought not.

So why should they do it the other way around?

It's a fact of life, live with it.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

Whilst it might not be the customers right to have it at the reduced price, it is very good customer service from John Lewis to honour the reduced price.

The OP surely could have just refused delivery or sent it back within 14 days for a refund anyway, under the distance selling regulations. John Lewis would have ending up losing a customer purchase. John Lewis are willing to sell it at the reduced price now anyway, so why not offer the customer the cheaper price and keep the customer.

    Some people are never happy.

It is all about keeping the customer happy so they will get repeat business.

I am thinking of buying a new TV and will certainly consider buying it from John Lewis now
