I ordered a TV online from John Lewis on Thursday to be delivered next Thursday and what do I find when I go online to show a friend the TV I am getting?
It is £50 less now than when I ordered it.
Just had an email from John Lewis, I am getting a £50 refund:j

Oh wow, usually people put these threads in consumer rights. Well done for putting it in the right place.
That said,
(a) The impression I've got is that John Lewis are A++ for customer service. Why not ask if they'll refund it?
(b) Failing that, you could threaten to cancel under the distance selling regulations (and if they call your bluff, reorder it)0 -
as above, if its worth the trouble I would return under distance selling regs (can you return to store?) and reorder....might be worth telling customer services that you will do this and see if they will move on price
saying that though, its just one of those things isnt it, whenever you buy any item you risk it being reduced the next day, however if you never bought anything because of this you would never buy anything ever0 -
Sods Law I'm afraid, no sooner is something out on the shelf, the prices drop and drop, up until they sell them
(imagine if prices increased on items over time)

Sorry for a partial thread hijack, but to Amazon still do this?
They used to (without much advertising of the fact) refund the price reduction if the item went down in price within 30 days of you ordering (you had to contact them to claim it) and obviously it had to be an Amazon item not a marketplace seller.0 -
Its worth speaking to them about whether they will refund you the difference. I once bought a tv in one of their stores and then found it cheaper on their website when I had a look the day after buying it. Spoke to the store and then refunded the difference back to my card. So its worth a go.0

up its sods law like when i brought a 24 pack of cola for £10 came back the next da and they were £80

look at there website i remember been told if the item cheaper they will refund it or do as someone else says and just say found it cheaper good luck with it0

I know I work for JL so I WOULD know... but didn't you know about the 30 day price promise? Pop into your nearest JL with your receipt, point to the changed price and get the difference back.0
