Welcome to Broken Britain..where the Underclass rule...Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

well done on a very noble act, and not giving her money was the best thing to do. From the sound of it she would only have spent it on microchips and scratchcards0

Thanks for all the support!
I was churning all night long, god knows why!
I suppose I just have to accept that there are some horrible, rude people in the world.
I just feel sorry for the little boy, having a Mother like that, I don't regret what I did, just wish I had said some thing to the women, but then I would never lower myself to her level and give her abuse, especially not in front of young children.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

DH witnessed something like this on Friday whilst I was in the shop. Toddler ran out in a car park in front of a car- cue toddler's mum having a right go at the driver of the car, even though she was busy doing something far more important than holding her toddler's hand:mad: DH really wanted to say his piece but it was the sort of area where you could get stabbed for doing that. Feel proud, op that you did a VERY good thing and the stupid womnan who had a go at you will get hers in the end. Well done you:T:T:T:A

You did the right thing
Dont let that moronic mother spoil anymore of your time. I bet you do the same thing again and rightly so. A life is much more precious than a small rip in a coat, most parents would thank you, I know I would0 -
What a horrible thing for you to go through.
Thank goodness there are people like you around that care.
Take no notice of the highly irresponsible parent unfortunately there are a few of them around.
If it had been my child I would have been straight to the shops to get you a big bunch of flowers.0 -
If I lost my child in a shopping centre, the first place I would ask for help would be the information desk, rather than go looking in the car park. Had I got there, they would have also put out a tannoy annoucement so the mother would have known he was safe.
I was alone and the shopping centre has several entrances near to each other, so I couldn't be sure the mother would come out of that door.
So if you lost your child you wouldn't spend a few moments frantically looking for him/her, you'd go straight off to the info desk? "Several entrances near each other" means people WERE coming and going all around you, any one of them could have gone straight to the info desk to report the 'find' on your behalf. DON'T take a child anywhere - however well-meaning your actions may be.0 -
It's easy to sit on the internet and make your own assumptions and say what you would do after an event. It makes me understand why people are reluctant to help others.
It was a split second decision made after stopping a child running into a busy car park. I did what I thought was best and took the child away from the danger. There were plenty of people around and they all ignored the child, so chances are nobody was likely to help once I'd grabbed him. You only have to read the "fell off a train" thread to see how many people walk on by when incidents happen.
If I found a child again and the parent couldn't be seen within a few minutes, I'd find official help from an information desk or security guard as they have the means of putting public announcements out. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Well done indeed OP ... you did absolutely the right thing.
I once saw a young toddler (maybe 18 months - 2 years) run out in front of a car, car screeched to a halt and missed child by literally inches. Mum runs in front of car, grabs child by arm, screeches at driver and child ... driver drove off. Mum then started walloping child around the head, back, shoulders. I shouted and started running towards them, and she picked child up and ran off. Fortunately, the whole thing captured on CCTV and the police were able to trace her from CCTV to a car she got into through the vehicle reg.
Some people don't deserve to be parents :-(0
