Have just got back from the doctors blood pressure has gone up again it's now 162 over ??
doctor has given me Amlodopine tablets to supplement the tablets that had no effect
he said take 1 tablet a day but if they make you feel dizzy and lethargic just take half a tablet
my wife used to be on these tablets about 12 months ago and because of the side effects I asked the doctor to take her off them
have to go back again next week!""
Hi all hope all is well and you are having some luck.
Amilucky, 162 isn't too bad it is more the bottom figure they worry about as that us the one you have no control over. The 162 can be affected by being a bit stressed.
It took ages to find some pills I could take without being ill and those were prescribed by the cardiologist when I had my heart attack at 46. They left me on the ones I was already on and added more when I had my major stroke in 2006. As you can imagine I am on loads of pills.
I asked the stroke consultant about not eating grapefruit with the statins and it is because it stops the statin from working correctly.
I have to take a very high doseage of statin (80mg per day). You could try asking your doctor about Adizem 180 and perindopril which are both good for high blood pressure.
If you have been given water tablets and start to feel really thirsty all the time as well as not quite with it you will need to ring the doctor as these can affect your potassium levels.
You also need to try some type of relaxation therapy to stop yourself getting wound up as this is also bad for you.
The average levels of the bad cholestrol should be between 3-6 anything over that and they get a bit tetchy.
Hope you manage to get it sorted out quickly, try not to think or worry about it too much if at all possible.
Sorry you missed your trip shiels hope you manage to get another on soon.
We still don't have any snow although the forecast is for snow tonight and tomorrow and the sky does have some in it.
My grandson is staying with us for a few days for school as he cycles good job I have food in for him as it's far too cold for me to go out.
Hope everyone is having some luck.

thanks amilucky I have the outlook that I meet everything head on, dust myself down and get on with stuff and that helped me a lot. I do get a lot of bad days which is why I don't always post in here.If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.
