  • I'm with Sky and not impressed at the moment.
The conection drops several times a day. My son used to do Customer Support for Virgin so I usually chuck him the phone to go through all support c***.
A week ago they tried to get us to plug another filter in and plug the router in elsewhere. My son kindly told them that it would only work at the main socket. AND what difference would it make as it has not been moved /unplugged since it's installation over a year ago.
Miraculously the connection was ok for a few days but now it's starting dropping again.
    I'm considering going to BT.

I'd never have Virgin or TAlk Talk.
Thanks to those that post the comps!!

Sleep well all. God Bless. Chat soon! :)

Just a little reminder to feed the little birds, and try to prevent their water bowls from freezing over! Not that you all need a reminder though! ;)

BT does cost a little more each month, but I've always had a good service from them, so wouldn't change provider. I pay £9.99 per month for my AOL, and their service has improved over the years, so will continue to use them as my ISP.

HTH ... Maybe a little bit...

Maybe its just the weather causing it to go off korky? Hope youre not off for too long.
My internet/phone is off cos I only paid so much of the bill with virgin. I am so annoyed with their services  My bills are always £70-£90 month and all I have is phone & internet. Everytime i try calling just keep getting answer phone or someone who I cant understand. I dont use the phone much either so I've decided i'm going onto sky/bt as they do better deal. I usually have it paid but this month just got too much so they cut me off!

Gosh wingo that is expensive! I have been moaning about Plusnet who charge me £11.99 for 10g and unlimited 12am - 8am which is nearly double what it is in some areas(old exchange here or something). They are supposed to be changing me to 60g for £17.99 but are messing it up. Just have BT for phone with free weekend and night calls for £13 a month - I think.Don't really phone much anyway.

    Morning everyone,
Hope you are all surviving this weather. I see we have had a fresh fall of snow overnight. Kids have been feeling left out as there hasn't really been enough to make a snowman! They have managed to sledge and have snowball fights though and they have been on holiday for St Andrew's Day(3 days) so have had fun.
Must go and do some comps. Good luck everyone.

  • Ugh @ the snow. I really dont like the stuff. It had better be gone in by the time I drive up to Scotland to see the in-laws for Christmas.

    Morning all

We had a bit of snow overnight but not even enough to make a snowball really. It's snowing now but is the wet horrid stuff will have to see how it goes. My 2 eldest grandsons were convinced they wouldn't need to go to school today too, shame!

I am staying in today as it is much too cold for me. I am hoping my daughter pr my son will pick a couple of bits up food wise for me.

Off to do some comping now. Luck to all this cold snowy morning,

    I'm considering going to BT.

I'd never have Virgin or TAlk Talk.

I'm with BE Broadband and I can highly recommend them unlike BT and a lot of other isp's they do not use throttling and traffic shaping after 6pm which slows users down so you have a fast connection all off the time, they also have a very low contention ratio so there are never a lot of users on one line at any given time

you get up to 12meg download with UNLIMITED usage for £13.79 per month

you can also rent your telephone from them and just like BT they have Basic @ £9.50 Evening & Weekend @£10.50 and Anytime for £13.50 per month

Because they rent there lines from BT, it does mean that if an engineer has to come round, it's a BT engineer.

    see: https://www.bethere.co.uk/web/beportal/homepage

they have a fantastic support service as well which you can access online or via telephone

    Best of Luck :)
