We liked Kents Cavern, its worth a look & there is nice beach just round the corner from KC for rock pooling (Meadfoot) if you have a fine day and your kids like that kind of thing, but you'd have to check the tide times.

Parkdean Torquay is quite tucked out of the way so you'll need to drive to most places from there. Trago Mills in Newton Abbot is good, lots to do inside and out, its about 15 mins from where your staying.

Fingers x for good weather, I've been in October and still made it to the beach!!

I went on the beach with my parents and we bumped into my cousin of all people. We all had a chat and then departed and Mum and Dad and I sat on a bench and I got us icecreams and I had one on a stick like a magnum,Really tasty too.

Thanks Rainey. Looking forward to going back. We haven't stayed in a caravan this year and we enjoy that too. We get a 3 bedroom with double glazing and central heating etc just for 4 of us - it stops kids fighting. We will have a look at Trago Mills when we are there.Going to use Tesco tokens at Kents Cavern when we go - love saving money as well as doing comps! Kids still like rock pooling even though they are 14 & 12.

On average what percentage of the comps do people enter, I'm sometimes a bit wary of some of the sites and not so sure about all the email ones (other than from well known magazines/websites etc).

Is there anything apart from the 'list of spam sites' that people steer clear of?

I only comp on and off, depending on how busy real life is. When I am active, I avoid the stated 'spammy sites', but probably enter 80% of the rest of the online/email comps. I find that 'spammy' sites are usually mentioned in the OP, or are obvious--pop up ads etc. I don't know if there is a list somewhere.

I basically enter for everything I can reasonably use or give as a gift.

I am trying to be a more active comper, and branch out into postals too.

hiya jay & Rainey LB  there's a list in the comping guide for spammy sites to avoid, hth xx

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1014121

11 Are there any sites, from experience, which are likely to generate lots of spam?
There are a few which have come to our collective attention as sites that, when used for comps, seem to generate lots of unwanted postal, email & phone call attention. These are listed below for your information, however, please do remember that this is only the collective opinion of other MSE Compers & does not necessarily reflect upon the sites themselves.

    2minutedraw
    4FreeUK
    ABCWins
    Clash Club/Clash media
    Club La Costa
    Consumer Lifestyles
    Consumer Opinions
Craftomatic Beds (Comps appear to be just a way to get a salesman into your home, especially if vulnerable/alone)
    Emailinform
    EZ Prize Giveaway
    Fair Exchange
    GetMeATicket
    GetYourBillsPaid
    GreatUKsurveys
    Guide2Win
    InstantPrizeDraw
    Just-Rewards
    Lingscars
MyChild (pester with phone calls quite badly, but Compers have won with them - suggest do not give a phone number!) New owners since 2009, who do not ring out now. Will be removed from here totally once the word is out!
    MyConsumer
    MyFamilyUK
    MyOffers
NoizeMakesEnemies (Care - your profile with name, address, phone number & email appear to be on show with no way to make it private!!)
Nuts (comps.nuts.co.uk - comps are now run by the data collecting company Data Media & Research Ltd.)
    OffersClick
    Opinioniser
Optimax (phone calls, letters & emails!)
PickMeUpMagazine (comps.PickMeUpMagazine.co.uk - Care: the magazine comps seem to be unaffected, but any comps which direct to this site are run by the data collecting company Data Media & Research Ltd)
Premier Christian Radio (lots of postal junk mail even when you opt out of future contact)
    Prize4U
    Plum Offers
    PrizePunch
    RewardsToday
    Simple2Win
    SupremeOGlaze (linked to Weatherseal below)
    Space Kitchens (see thread here)
    Tickbox
    Topfox
    Toyhound
    UK-PrizeDraw
    VoiceInACrowd
    Vouch4me
    Weatherseal
    Weather Wherever
Willowbrook (chairs) (have pestered with phone calls quite badly on some comps - see here and also here)
    Win 4 Now
    Win24
Zenith Windows (linked to Weatherseal above)

    :)
please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly. k2u58ioz4c8e.png
