  • Thanks Blackmidnight,mjm and MintyMoneySaver.:)

mjm, regarding the regional awards etc,I know bigger promotions/sources who are national will prob have some automatic program for selecting winners or manually they will not care where the prize goes ,in either case it will be entirely random, but I do think it may be different for local papers, sites etc where prob a junior member of the editorial or marketing team will select the winners and may be more inclined and less scrutinized to treat draws as totally random regarding location (not individuals as such I hope)?

Blackmidnight,I agree it would be interesting to hear of winners outside regional sources. On a slightly tongue in cheek note, didnt Liverpool used to be in Chesire too at various points? :P Maybe the unspoken catchment area is a litle wider than I thought but not too wide if you see what I mean :D

MMS :p Nothing personal about Liverpool!! (Have spent several very Drunke.....erm...Pleasant ..times there both for work and visiting friends :D When I first started doing the comps here it just seemed that the Liverpool ones appeared to be awarded much more frequently to locals in the winners lists than most of the other comps I saw for regions, but this was just a fleeting impression and may have been based on a very small sample or could just be me getting it wrong as usual!!

The ITV ones using different numbers rather than actual persons as a way of setting entry limits is something I dont personally like and seems unfair in a lot of ways tbh ,but hey-ho :D

Thanks again guys for yr replies and gl :)

If you are having problems with connecting to IPC magazines with SKY it could be a DNS issue

I used to be with SKY and there DNS servers where not very good at the best of times :(

I use to use the free Opendns servers which where a lot faster and where less prone to errors details on easy set up below
    https://store.opendns.com/setup/computer/

    Best of Luck :)

I'm with sky and having ipc probs, tried using the opendns but it hasn't resolved this problem, but will hopefully help with other probs in the future - thanks

  • Hello...just a quickie regarding FHM, Maxim, Loaded etc ...I was wondering should I have registered as a man ifswim? I'm down in my own (female) name and wondered if this would have an effect on my chances of winning? Do all the ladies have their own account..or are they in an OH's name?
    Back on it!
  • My oh has her own accounts but enters them with Miss rather than Mrs etc :D

You could search by title.A quicker way is to change to "Likeability View" & just look down the list. Most of them are near the top 10 pages.
