I'd give Tesco Direct a call rather than their clubcard section, If the item has been delivered in your details then they should be able to see your details on there system, Which clears there DPA problem.

They can see my details - but they have no way to verify I am that person. I can supply no login details or even the email address that the account was opened with. From their point of view I could be absolutely anyone.

Lets be right if they did just give me the information based on "I rang up and said it was me" then everyone should be worried!!!

You obviously didn't ead my initial post properly.

Do me a favour and ring up Tesco and ask them for details about your account - one thing though... you can only give them your name and address:- Things atrt to get sticky when they ask you for account login details and even the email your registered the account under..........

They politely tell you because of the data protection act they cannot speak to me.

I did read your OP properly and all it says is that you got nowhere when you rang them due to the DPA.

Forgive me for not knowing exactly what questions they ask when you ring them.

Very odd, I used to work for tesco direct and know they won't normally ask for an email address and definitely don't ask for login details. As long they can confirm your details are on the order, that should pass DPA, unless they have change what they do. Call them back and if you get no where ask to speak to manager and find out what they want you to do with the laptop. They won't give you details of who ordered it but If you believe it's fraud then contact the police. Personally I'd be very concerned if a laptop turned up without an warning.

You are very rude. Perhaps the reason that Tesco were unhelpful was down to the way you spoke to them?
    Gone ... or have I?

Right so you are saying that if someone got hold of my invoice they could ring Tesco and have access to all my account details with absolutely no proof that the account was theirs?

Sorry they would be in deep dodo with the DPA.

Rude? I am not being rude at all. Stop trying to deflect the fact that you are being rather slow. Better still answer the question - what security questions did you expect them to ask?
