eek... you'd hate my painting :rotfl:

I'll be taking Charlie out tomorrow morning and then I have a mission to go to town to find some trousers that fit (as the ones I'm wearing are huge and I keep standing on the bottoms) but I'm around after that.

Must remember to take the kettle for BB....just in case! Good luck with the trouser hunt, I hate buying skirts, trousers or anything that is worn on bottom as they are always too long and out of proportion

I am totally and utterly fed up. Weather isn't helping. Been and shopped for family invasion tomorrow and might as well do the veg prep etc and absolutely nothing else on the agenda.

If it was the week after next I'd help you paint Sally - said that last nite though.

Operation "declutter and chuck out" is going well......DD has finally agreed to part with most of her cuddlies.....in the process we've found a lot of build a bear/bear factory clothes....so if anyones kids are into that give me a shout and I'll send some over :D

A trip to the charity shop on Monday will clear everything else (can't be faffed listing it on freecycle for people not to show up!)

When you did your bookcase did you sand it by hand or with sander? Did you then clean it with white spirit before painting? I have 2 bedside cabinets I am going to take the varnish off and wax I think

Pm me your address Buns and I'll sort someout for you....you too Sally - shall I keep them back until you've moved?

As for the bookcase, I sanded with an electric sander then scrubbed it with a wire brush to clear the dust out of the grain....the bits I waxed had one coat of wax then another good going over with the wire brush, then a couple more coats of wax to finish. I used cheapie matt emulsion as an undercoat and gloss on top to make it a bit more hard wearing.
