    Even if they sold it for this price, it doesn't say whether it is a good deal or not at all. Maybe they were selling not very well because a similar product was cheaper somewhere else. Of course, the company with a highest price can give a higher discount for the same product.

    The only important thing is the current price in comparison with other companies for a similar product. I will never understand people who judge a deal by the discount they get. It makes me even more suspicious if the "discount" is too big.

    in the end I got a refurb from argos clearance on ebay
    TOSHIBA SATELLITE L450D-11V 15.6IN LAPTOP for £269.99

    window 7, 3 gig ram and 250 hd . Seemed very good for the money so I snapped it up. Fingers crossed.


    I am also enjoying ubuntu - but miss things like sibelius plugins and decent podcast clients!
