are dell sales genuine?

Hello

I am quite tempted by this.

Inspiron 15 Dual core processor with 4GB RAM. At £449 I see that it is advertised as reduced by £223

Is this really true - Did this laptop ever sell for £672 or should I take dell sales with a pinch of salt?

thanks for any insight

seems a good deal, look at compaq though, theyre better imo. look on tesco site.
    Compaq CQ71- 401 Laptop (Intel Celeron Dual-Core, 3GB 250GB, 17.3" Screen, Windows 7 Home Premium) for £409

    or Compaq CQ61-421 Intel Celeron 1.9GHz, 3GB, 320GB, 15.6" Laptop at £359

i know 2 people that are not impressed with the dell laptops they rescently purchased.

thanks Allan, I will certainly look at the compaqs too

I was considering dell as my last laptop (6 years old) came from them and has been OK - though windows on it died a month ago and have been running it on linux since!

Perhaps build quality has gone down as my work has dumped them as a supplier to go to lenovo

I still also have an 8% dell corp discount... which makes it tempting

others will probably praise dell in here as they know a lot more than me.

8% discount is ok, its nice to get other peoples advice too.

My Laptop last year has £275 off, and when it expired it did go up but not by that much because its the end of line model. I also got 7% off using TopCashback. The price was £810 when it was new product as I had been watching their prices for 1 yr before purchasing.
As its Duel core its the last lot of that model they have as the Intel i3,5,7 are out already.

Well the lastest chips are intel i3,5 and 7. When I got mine it was just before they switched to Win7 and a larger hard drive.

So yes its the end of the line, Its also intels mid range processor. Which will be fine for normal day to day browing, emails and video watching. But its not a games machine.
