I have been on a pay as you go for some years now but have noticed my usage is creeping up:eek:!! I am looking for no more than £20pm and would love a blackberry curve for e-mails and surfing the net without worrying about the cost texts and phone have equal useage. Any suggestions on the best deals please? T-mobile have 300 txt 300 mins and a top up for anytime surf. Husband also looking to go on contract - would we get a better deal with 2 of us searching?? Welcome any thoughts please.......:)

T-mobile appear to have the 2nd best deal at £15 for a 24 month contract. They are only beaten by Virgin who give 500 texts and 300 minutes. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0

Thanks OTG, much appreciated, it changes so often the Blackberry only a week ago was 200 mins and 200 txts with Virgin. The deal looks excellent but need more talk time only say 100 mins and I could forgo a few txts.....0

I'm a virgin customer so I have a Blackberry curve for £15 a month, contract for 24 months, 100 minutes talk time, 500 texts and 1000 mins to any another Virgin phone. I've had this for about 2 weeks so far.
Now I just have to figure out how the Blackberry works arghh
KEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0 -
Do you like the Blackberry? How did you find Virgin?0

The best contract is (a) one you get reception where you need it and (b) that covers all your needs so you don't get swingeing out of bundle charges - particularly with data exceeding the limit which is easy to do if you surf and download.
Look at your usage - now and anticipated, find out how many Mb music, films or anything else you would like to download is going to consume and then get a data bundle to cover that and one that isn't going to bankrupt you if you go over - see Tesco out of bundle data charges, for example and then compare them to ASDA's for a startling comparison to prove the point.0 -
If your already a virgin media customer for broadband, phone or tv then you get unlimited txts, and unlimited virgin to virgin calls (useful if your other half is also looking to get one). I got the 9700 bold about 3 weeks ago on Virgin, have to say that as a first time blackberry user I think it is the best phone I have ever used (i know the curve is slightly different). I am also happy with the virgin service, it piggybacks on the t-mobile network so coverage seems to be good almost everywhere. I have had no better or worse service from Virgin then any other network, but I do know that in the past virgin are far better at replacing faulty phones then other networks I have used.

Thank you Guys Dad and smcaul. I just feel a little nervous commiting to 2 years - it seems a lifetime, however, following your comments I will go with Virgin as my payasyougo is with Virgin and now you mentioned the replacement of phones, I remember they replaced my handset after 11 months as the screen went completely, no quibble. They were great. I also agree that the signal has to be good and to be honest I know what I am getting with Virgin and unsure the others can offer a better service (now I have looked). I'm a little excited now!!!0

Good luck with the phone!! If after a couple of months you find your usage is more than the allowance (or that you're cutting back because you don't want to go over), you can ask Virgin to move you on to the next tariff. They are usually pretty good about moving you down too.In the beginning, the universe was created. Thank you OTG, an extra piece of info I wasn't aware off, very much appreciated. Just completely confirmed my option to go with Virgin. Thank you.
Thank you to everyone for their hints and tips - I am now off to place my order - thank you.0 -
My 18 year old son got his first contract phone today (well first in his name he has been paying one via me for over a year and half).
He wanted the Blackberry(no idea why but hey ho), he has been on a £25 a month contract but goes over by about £20-30 most months.
He came back with the following today on vodaphone £35 monthly contract
1000 minutes
Unlimited texts and internet
Blackberry curve
3 months free insurance
£30 cash
£10 pre loaded onto a pre payment credit card
£15 pre loaded onto a dongle
2 pay as you go Nokia 1800's on vodaphone with £10 credit on each
Can you tell me please if you think he could have done better so he knows next time.....
Thank youReal men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.
