I've just had the wildfire direct from Tmobile. I paid £99 for the phone then £10 per month for 100 mins, unlim txts using the free booster & unlim internet. Going through topcashback also paid me £40.00. Total cost for the 24 months will be £299.

Works out cheaper than their £15mth/£35 phone plan too!

(shame I can't txt on it, at all  )

What's the problem with texting?

However delicately I try to tap the keys, it brings up another letter (as in, one from the other side of the keypad!) I've tried using the 3 possible keyboard options.

If I use the phone one (2 & abc) for example, when I press the 'pqrs' key I get the 's' first.

If I use the compact qwerty, when I press the 'ty' key, the y comes up first. A quick double-tap brings up 2 x tt! I tried to write 'taken' the t comes up, then when I tap the a/s key, the t is removed & Ya appears.

I presume it's me, but it's driving me nuts, any ideas?

I have used a 3.5" screen and now I have the SGS with 4" screen and typing on the bigger screen is much easier due to the letters being spread out.

You should only need to touch it lightly so try lightly with the pointest part of the finger (if that makes sense) and you should be able to select the correct letter.

Well the deal I had seen with affordable mobiles was for a free Wildfire handset on a £15 a month contract that included 300mins and 300 texts and unlimited internet.

Is it worth a phone call to any of the network to see if they can offer a similar deal?

My first guess would be that you have the predictive text turned on, which appears to be the default setting for the Wildfire. If you press the 'ty' key once, it will bring up the 'y' and then correct this to a 't' if the word you are typing requires it. Try typing 'yes' by hitting each key ONCE only. Then do a space and type 'text'. It should correct the words automatically.

If you need larger keys, try setting the phone up to use the Landscape keyboard. The manual says:

When entering text, you can choose to use the landscape orientation of the onscreen keyboard.
The Orientation check box in HOME > MENU > Settings > Sound & display needs to be selected for the screen orientation to automatically change.
The landscape orientation keyboard is not supported in all applications.

• One other thing Jo-Jo - You can download the user guide from the HTC website here: (clicky). Texting and the bit I've copied comes in at around page 60.

I have bought from them and so has my son.

Had no problems so far.

My son recently got a blackberry with T Mobile. Got more minutes, free gift,£30.00 cashback by redemption and £60.00 cashback through TCB.Even if he does not do the £30.00 cashback by redemption it is still a better deal than he could of got elsewhere especially better than going to T-mobile direct.

Thanks Oscar, landscape qwerty is the way forward I think. (ps. predictive text was off, it was one the first things I did when I had it!)

This is my point precisely. Are they reliable to purchase from before any cashback deals are considered, as they offer the better initial deal of cheaper line rental and better tariff?

If the other 'gifts' work out then that would be a bonus.

Also, would a network try and match a deal if you dealt with them directly?
