Lol...and all this time I thought he was working away and he is actually with you filling your house with junk
:rotfl:
Actually, on the days when he is really frustrating me, I just console myself with the thought that all men seem to be the same. And he does have his good points.0 -
i like to be tidy at home, oh is a constant battle with this. i dont have a desk, and with all our infection controll rules there isnt scope to be messy at work, its my car that is a bit of a dumping ground, allthough i did clean it thoroughly yesterday, even the inside.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0

Now, OH deals with the car and it is always clean, no-one is allowed to eat or drink in it (even though it has billions of cupholders / bottle holders for some bizarre reason) and he moves scraps of paper out of it immediately. (Though he doesn't clean his own out quite so often!) Same with the garden and yard - forever cutting grass, weeding, sweeping up etc - it's just the house he has a problem with!0

Ugh, OH's car going to cost £215 to repair. I think my overdraft is doomed never to be paid off! Though thinking about it, if the garage accept credit cards it might be an idea to put it on his (paid off each month) credit card. the statement just came yesterday so it wouldn't need paying until beginning of January...hmmm!
Binmen came today and have almost filled bin already. Someone from freecycle came and picked up some stuff. She's put me off once or twice and was starting to panic. OH due home tonight (I have to pick him up in an hour; don't really fancy an hour's round trip in the rain and dark but can't leave him stranded I suppose!) and I had visions of him wrestling the stuff back from her as she came to collect it.
Took a binbag of clothes to the Oxfam drop off too - only a week after I took a bag for Bags 2 School. maybe I should have sorted my wardrobes earlier.
Living room, bathroom, DD's bedroom, our bedroom and stairs completely decluttered and shiny. Anyone can come and inspect any cupboard, drawer, wardrobe etc and you would only find everything orderly, organised and in its place :A Washing and ironing baskets are empty.Kitchen looks great as long as you don't go in any cupboards or drawers. DS's room still to sort out but there's not loads to do there. Attic room? Now that's a whole different story!
Did have a scary moment too when I climbed into the bedroom window to clean it and nearly couldn't get back out! Hoping none of my neighbours noticed that.
Ebay stuff up to £37.79 (4 items - two are doing really well, but the other two are still on initial bids). Two and a half hours to go so hoping some of the watchers come out of the shadows and make a bid before then!0 -
I think I AM your OH!!! I hate throwing anything away, simply because I know that the day after I do it, I'll suddenly discover that I actually need it for something after all! But at the same time, I like a tidy house, hence everything gets chucked into storage, out of sight and out of mind!
I know what you're saying about stuff on Ebay that sells for more than it cost - I listed an LCD TV/DVD combi last week that I got in Argos as part of my credit card rewards for DS's Christmas (they sent me 2 collection vouchers by mistake, hence selling one, but don't tell!). I got it for £150, but the catalogue price was £249.99, current stock. So WHY did it sell on Ebay for £261 plus a tenner postage??? I checked the buyer's postcode on the Argos website, and it was available in their local store, and available for home delivery! I clearly photographed the receipt which had the £249.99 on it paid by gift voucher, and said it clearly in the description. I just don't get it! How's your book doing?
Fab result on your house cleaning! I've lost the will slightly after the battle with the bedroom, but we've just dropped our house price so hoping for some viewers therefore better make the effort over the next couple of days.0 -
WOW! You're doing loads! Proper nesting time eh? Had a little giggle about you getting stuck in the window

Not sure if it's nesting or just me! Whenever have a holiday from school I always find myself soing a declutter - nothing on this scale though but that could be as I've had more time and no kids to entertain me.
Think I possibly overdid it yesterday though. Everytime I tried to move in bed last night my pelvic bone screamed in agony - I nearly cried at one point trying to roll from my left side to my right. I think I've mastered the getting in and out of cars etc but how do you roll over without putting pressure on a leg??
OH has taken my car today so I'm trapped in our village which has a once an hour bus service to not very many places. Not that I'm bothered but it means DD will have to catch the school bus as I'm not up to walking the half mile along the lane to school. She quite likes getting the school bus though and it is a bus for her school only so quite safe.
My ebay books (4 identical books other than the year group aimed at) reached £23.47, £11.34, £6.62 and £31.19 - bit of a difference there! The same person has bought and paid for the £23 and £6 books and hasn't even asked for a postage discount. Think will send one through paypal though as won't cost nearly what she's paid to send the two books, I don't think. Will wait until been to PO to see. Will have to go to our village PO as wellDon't generally like to go there are the people running it are quite unpleasant but it's either that or wait until Saturday or hope my Mum is going into town at some point and has time to wait!

DS off school again for the third Friday running (teacher training this time!) whih works out quite well as his is the only room still needing a really good clean (apart from the dreaded attic!) so he can help with that.
Was planning on sorting out the top of our wardrobes today. We have some cardboard storage boxes from IKEA filled with momento type items (first shoes, cards, certificates, hospital wristbands etc) which have got really tatty and the bottoms starting to fall out of them. So I ordered some faux leather boxes from Argos to use instead. My Argos order arrived yesterday, signed for it, off went the delivery man, opened the packages and only 2 boxes delivered not 4! E-mailed Argos and have a reply today saying they had run out but I am welcome to try ordering again in few days or trying my loocal store - yes, but I've already paid for them once!! So might have to e-mail Argos again to clear that up. still, can get on with transferring stuff into two boxes, I suppose.
Baby seems to be at a really weird angle today - I have a really hard lump sticking out of the top of my bump. Tried gently pushing it back in but to no avail and don't want to push too hard as I think (according to scan at weekend) it might be his head and don't want to do any damage!!0 -
Ooh, I remember hating lumpy bits sticking out, and I know what you mean about not wanting to prod too much!
Bloomin Argos - last time we ordered something there they got it wrong too, although on this occasion they gave us 2 TVs instead of one, so I wasn't complaining for once!
Good on you with the mega-clean. I keep thinking of you when I look round my filthy house, but still can't motivate myself enough to do anything about it! Must do some work this evening...0
