So far on ebay I've sold books, Cds, clothes (adult and child), toys and bits and bobs. It's hard to say what goes well as some lovely stuff has gone for peanuts and other stuff I thought people wouldn't want has gone really well.
Basically I've just sold anything that we haven't used and probably wouldn't use.

I think some things go well at carboots and some go better on ebay.
For example things like soft toys and videos don't sell on ebay but do at carboots.
Also the last car boot I did lots of people looked at some of the things I had but didn't buy them even priced at £1. I put the same stuff on ebay and sold curtains for £24, a children's telescope for £14 and a microscope set for £35. no-one wanted them at the car boot. Also several CD's and dressing up outfots that have gone for between £3-£10 on ebay, no-one was interested at the car boot. It could be our area but people don't want to pay much at a car boot sale.
So be careful that you don't sell your stuff for a lot less than you could have got on ebay!0 -
hi
an ebay trading assistant is someone who will sell on others behalf and keep a percentage (10% or more) of the sale price. useful for both parties as somepeople do not have time/it skills/connection etc. for example if i wanted you to sell a cd for me and the cd is worth £5, you sell it on my behalf using your account. you pay the listing fees/money forpostage etc from the sale of the cd and keep 10% of the sale price and give me the rest. does that make sense?
if you look at ebay and search for trading assistant it will show the assistants in your area.TH0 -
Now, that's very interesting! Might have to look into that! Especially as have become quite addicted to ebay but running out of things to sell!0

Hmm thats true, difficult to judge really, I HATE giving stuff away for next to nothing especially when you know it cost a lot in the first place! I have to tell myself I need the money - however much it is and that its better than having cupboards full of useless items!£2 Savers Club - £36 (Started 17.11.06)

That is true. Everything I have ebayed I have thought "Do we use it? Are we likely to use it in the next year? If the answer is no then it has gone on ebay and most stuff has sold. Some has had to be relisted but I don't mind that as you get your listing fees refunded when it sells the second time.
It sometimes amazes me that something will sit there for a week and not sell, then be relisted and sell within an hour. Guess it just depends what people are looking for at the time!
I can honestly say that so far I haven't missed anything that I've sold, and I've been selling since July / August. I estimate I've made at least £7-800 since then which has all come straight off my debts.
It's also made me see how much stuff we buy that we don't really need, just stuff we want and that never gets looked at again after the initial buzz of buying.
Now I get more of a buzz from not buying. I am turning into my OH who never buys ANYTHING unless he desperately needs it -typical quote from him "Why would I buy jeans / shoes / a coat? I've got a pair of jeans / shoes / a coat!"
I used to think him mean but I'm coming round to his way of thinking. Mind you he would still buy the kids nothing for Christmas on the grounds that they have toys / games already! I'm not that bad!0 -
Hmmm...a good and bad day today.
Lots of stuff finished on ebay and nearly all sold. Am well past the target I set myself last week, even though I am mightily sick of wrapping parcels and I get the feeling the post office staff all try to find something urgent they need to do when they spot me on my way in!
Also...did my first mystery shop today. Apologies to the person who suggested it and I said I didn't have time as we tried it today and it didn't take us too far out of our way. It certainly won't make me rich - what I have earned is hardly anything really but DD got a free play session and drink out of it and it was quite fun really.
On the minus side, we managed to spend £80 on the weekly shopSome of that is a huge box of dishwasher tablets, slippers for DD (a whole £2!) and stuff for baking but a few treats seemed to slip in there also. Must be stricter with myself next week *slaps hand*
Anyway, it's that time of the month when it's long enough past to have forgotton last payday but still ages off the next payday *sigh*. If it wasn't for the Paypal money dribbling into my account (£50 at a time) I would be really sick.
But, am back to work Monday, then I won't have time to think about anything until Saturdays.
Only 3 weeks until payday...roll on then!0 -
Is it just me or is it a really long month? Seems like ages till Payday with ages still to go!
Still, have paid off catalogue and phoned and closed the account today as I have received the final commission cheque. The girl who closed the account wanted to know why I was closing it and about an hour later someone different phoned me back to make sure I was sure I wanted to close my account and what was the reason why.
Do all companies act shocked that anyone would ever want to stop taking out credit with them??
Ebaying still going well - it's looking good to be below £15,000 at the end of this month. I know that is still  but it's better than the situation we were in three or four months ago.
Am posting on Moozie's "How much have you spent" board each day and it is really working in keeping me from spending on disposable rubbish. I just tell myself I don't need a magazine / coffee / prepacked sandwich etc - still early days but it's working so far.
Have been accepted for Marbles card (0% for 12 months) and when it arrives will BT some money from Egg loan which is currently costing £56 a month in interst -every little helps!
Current debt free day is December 2007 but am doing everything in my power to bring that closer, one month at a time.
Hmmm...well, that's my rambling over for a while, probably till the end of the month unless anything major happens0 -
Hey just read your sig, congratulations, thats excellent going0
