Yes it is a lot seeing as a men are not suppose to drink more than 21 units a week. And have a few day off from drinking.

Half a pint of normal strength beer/large is 1 unit. Not sure what size cans but if each one has one unit in it he is drinking over the recommended limits every week.

i agree its alot. My oh dosent drink 25 cans a year let alone a week? Cut down on the unnecessary stuff if you want to save cash?

  • Hi there,

I just felt compelled to stick my tuppence in - I would agree with the aldi/lidl thing as their fruit and veg etc we have always found to be really good and farmfoods for whatever you eat thats frozen (we buy veggies, and all o/h's "processed" stuff from there) I fail to see where people find the authority to comment on other peoples habits!!! I would like to say "who made you god?" and there is an awful lot of truth in the saying "live and let live"
I have an o/h that likes a beer in the evening, he will normally have 1-2 cans, he doesn't "binge drink" and go mad as a hatter at weekends- and before you all start to chastise me also.....if NON alcoholic beer is cheaper at the time, he will drink that just the same! Don't jump to conclusions......rant over...

I just wanted to thank everyone for their input and just reiterate that I didnt ask for comments regarding my purchases, just advice about where I could get them for the cheapest price. Off to Farmfoods today to stock up on veggies and milk.

And then onto Asda for the 3 boxes of beer for £20. :p :rotfl:
:o Trying to become debt free but this site makes me spend a fortune!!! :o

Doesnt matter whether you asked or not if you ask on an open forum you will hear things you might not want too. I cant take people seriously who want food cheap but buy fags, booze, and gamble.:rotfl:

There's nothing wrong with people wanting to buy all of the things they usually buy, only for less. Makes sense really doesn't it?

dont mean to be picky but netto is no more as asda bought the uk division of netto so it may well chnage to an asda

grr I love netto for their part baked bread, naans, pittas etc much better than Asda's :(
Valuable life advice: never play chicken with a lion...the lion will ALWAYS win!
  • donnaessex : I use farmfoods for sugar...much cheaper than main supermarkets especially when teenage son LOVES baking! think it's about 59p a kilo but often 2 for £1 which given than Asda is around 96p a kilo that's my Farmfoods bargain! :)
