Well, I've just contacted the two bands I know to see how much they charge. Looks like it's happening!

Thanks for the answers everyone. I put 1/3 of good stuff like Bold, 1/3 of Tesco value and 1/3 of Soda Crystals and mix it together - and then put half of recommended amount into machine - this was taken from a thread on here and means that my powder lasts for ages - very MSE.

I will try to reduce the amount I put in to see if that makes a difference. I do squash my clothes in as well Lou, so that might be part of it.

  • DD2 and SIL moved into a place just the same. I had to wash all the kitchen walls and ceiling with fairy liquid to get the grease off. We turned it round in a week. Hard work but very rewarding.
  • Tenmah, I had the same problem with powders. Now use Morrisons value/Tesco cheapest etc liquid and it works just as well. Keep a jug of Ace for real messes!

Yep sounds like what I shall have to do. The blind in the kitchen window is covered in cobwebs, black with dirt and grease

Much as I love my DS, as long as there is a hole in my bum I will not be forking out a grand to insure him to go pottering about with his mates in our car. It is also a hell of a lot of bus fares and taxis.........he will have to get a job if he wants to drive I am afraid.
