If it's an EU airline - yes. The obligation for accommodation goes away if you arrange your own transport - you just get the air fare refunded once you do this

    If it's a non-EU airline - no

    is my understanding.

I assumed from Airport where you are stuck to home/wherever you need to get to!

My flight is on 30th Aug into Heathrow from Athens. BMI/Aegean Air codeshare so I assume an EU airline, but will check it is covered.

So if the flight is delayed/cancelled due to the strike, then the Airline is obliged to book me on an alternative flight and provide accommodation if that is also required i.e. the flight is on a different day? But if I decide to make my own travel arrangements, the airline still pays for the rebooked flight but not any associated costs?
    Not even wrong
