Aren't they supposed to refund the delivery charge if it's not delivered within the time slot?

It was delivered within the time slot. The OP is complaining that the website claimed it was delivered before it had actually arrived.

The main thing is you have your food, they could mark it as delivered when the van is loaded but as i dont work for tesco i cant say for sure

Sorry, I thought your shopping had arrived now and it was 15 mins late.

    1) Complain about the tardiness - get some money off.

    2) I've never used an online checking service to see when my shopping has arrived. I realy on the old fashioned - seeing if my shopping has arrived in my kitchen method. Never had a problem with Tesco.

  • They'll have marked it as delivered when it's put in the van and the driver sent merrily on his/her way. The driver only has their van and a mobile anyway, so no way they can update the details in real time, unless they're going to call the store every time they've delivered someone's shopping, which would cause delays.

Tescos system isnt "live" when the Assistant comes to your house the pda only has wifi and cant communicate with tescos servers untill he returns to the store, if the driver has to go manual, then all deliveries are marked "delivered" as he will be using paper.

So no conspiracy im afraid "to make them look good"

well, its just turned up, with no apology or anything.. its not the fact that its a bit late that bothers me, thats to be expected, its the fact they are showing it as being delivered when it hasnt been, no doubt to try and make themselves look good.

The driver probably isnt sorry, I hated apologising when I worked for tesco as it wasnt always my fault (i.e the pickers werent ready or they gave me too many deliveries in to short a timeframe) so why should I apologise.

You posted at 10:22 that it had arrived, and earlier you posted that your timeslot was 9-11am.

I assumed that it was 10:22 the same day, sorry.

Also if you book a 9-11am delivery slot and your delivery has alcohol it will arriv between 10am and 11am

It is a shame we don't get the delivery cost refunded when they are early - the last two times I have had the driver phone up and ask if he can come early as I was the last one on his list, which wasn't a problem to me as I was at home anyway, but money back would have been nice :)
