Will Sellotape or a sticky roller not take it off?

I've done this so many times with black school pants and tumble drying them gets most of it off.

Use sticky tape. Wrap it round your hand, sticky side out and then dab at the tissue bits on the jacket.

If you see one of those sticky rollers on sale, buy it. It'll be a lifesaver for next time. (And there is always a next time.)

Ditto the above - and be grateful it wasn't a tampon! They make the worst mess! :rotfl:

This won't help your current problem, but I now always buy 'Tempo' tissues (usually on offer in Savers). They go through the washing machine in one piece! I am forever leaving tissues in my pockets and these are fantastic.

My ds leaves his tissues in pockets all the time. I would never buy anything but Tempo as they come out the wash in one piece but they are geting harder to find and we have only one chemist in town who sells them. Are there any other brands that will not break up in the washing machine?
  • AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, not actually a tissue - sorry if it's too much information but it was actually a sanitary towel.

My daughter is in hospital having a baby - handed me a bag of rather yukky pyjamas etc - I wasn't too careful looking through it as I loaded the washing machine and lo and behold ... a snowstorm in a washing machine!!!

Tissue fluff is usually (not that I wash tissues very often!) quite lumpy and easy to pull off clothing - but this stuff has broken down into teeny tiny strands and is evenly distributed on the inside and outside of everything in the machine - sod's law it's all the type of fabric that fibres just love to cling to (jersey cotton etc).

I've put it all through the machine again on the 'intensive' cycle and with extra rinse - but it's all come out exactly the same.

I've put a few bits out on the washing line in the hope that the fibres might blow away (by some miracle!) - but now it's pouring hard with rain - so maybe the comination of weather might sort them out (doubtful really!).

I've put another lot in the tumble dryer (not very MSE) in the hope that the static might encourage the millions of fibres to gather together into one big clump (doubtful about that too!).

Any tips for how I can remove these millions of tiny fibres please??

    Many thanks x

    PS - I'm a Nanna - baby Jacob was finally born yesterday morning weighing 9lb 3oz - he's beautiful :j

Try wrapping your hand in Sellotape so that the sticky bit is on the outside and running that over the surface of the clothes.

    And congratulations :D
  • I made the mistake of washing a mop head with something black the other day :( Not a pretty result!

Funny enough, I had similar yesterday when DD put her black stuff in with a towel, duh! We tried rinsing and washing again to no avail and finally put it in small batches in the tumble drier where most of it came off on the filter, yay!
    Good luck and congrats.
